Stylish Georgian Apartment - 2nd Floor
Our apartment is on the 2nd floor up a spiral staircase and through the blue glazed door. The apartment shares its main street level entrance with the flat across the hall (13D) and is all yours for the duration of your stay. Dumfries is a busy market town in the South West of Scotland surrounded by beautiful countryside with many castles and beaches. There is close access to the railway station, theatre, clubs and pubs being in the centre of town. Please read on to find out more about our flat. Situated on the top floor of a listed Georgian building,the flat is centrally located in the centre of a bustling shopping area above a specialist Wine & Spirit Merchant. It has recently been completely refurbished and has a Smart TV/DVD in the lounge/kitchen. Does not suit disabled guests as it has two flights of stairs. One bedroom with a king size bed and a living room/modern kitchen with two comfortable armchairs. 13C English Street is right across the hall from 13D English Street and if you are two households you have the option of booking the two separate spaces if they are both available. The door at the bottom of the stairs is shared with 13D and should be kept closed at all times. 13C is at the top of the stairs, 2 flights up, and is through the blue door (kept closed during the colder months) then the second door on the left hand side. The stairs up to the attic are out of bounds and no access is allowed up there. It can be dangerous as there are missing floor boards so occupants should be particularly aware of this if they have children with them. If you require any assistance at all during your stay, please feel free to get in touch via my mobile phone or through the Airbnb app. We are happy to take luggage in early and have it left if you plan on doing things before you depart from Dumfries. Someone is always at the end of a phone and we are always happy to assist in carrying luggage up and down the stairs. Luggage may be dropped off with us, or left with us for your convenience. There is normally parking available close to the flat entrance however this can be full during busy times. Despite 'no waiting' signs, you can park for free anywhere in the street apart from the disabled bays but it pays to be mindful of business back doors as they will need access for deliveries during the working week. There is a free, long term car park around 200 metres from the property just off Shakespeare Street. The flat is 2 flights up a circular staircase. Strictly no smoking in either the flat or on the staircase. WiFi is okay through the flat for viewing social media etc. but gets the fastest speeds in the lounge/diner
