Luxurious Shepherds Hut + Private Garden & Views

Our cosy and luxurious Hut is suitable for singles & couples that appreciate the finer things in life. The accommodation comprises an en-suite power shower-room, compact kitchen, dining area and double bed. Facilities includes Freeview TV/Radio, WIFI and log burning stove & fuel. We provide tea, coffee, milk, crusty bread, butter, olive oil, various condiments and fresh eggs from our own happy chickens. The private garden with BBQ & furniture has fantastic views, parking space & own entrance. The Pilgrims Hut and surrounding lower garden is a perfect romantic retreat and is all your private space. It includes garden chairs and table, grass rug with BBQ and there are stunning views across the valley. There is also a dedicated parking space and your own private entrance. The main garden, with high hedgerows and mature pond is the equivalent of a woodland glade and is a haven for bird life. Crows, Jays, Green and Greater Spotted Woodpeckers and of course Herons are all regular visitors, and buzzards can be seen circling high above. Bullfinch and Nuthatch are more exotic but frequent visitors and during summer nights there are hunting bats and sometimes owls to hoot you to sleep. You are welcome to wander these areas as they are enjoyed by us all. In spring and summer the pheasants return to the garden and mallard ducks to the pond to mate. In late February Toads wake up from hibernation and begin migrating to their breeding pond in Pilgrims Garden to spawn and their croaking sounds give the gardens an equatorial feel; unfortunately the temperature doesn't match! The Pilgrims Hut and surrounding lower gardens are all your private space & have dedicated parking with own entrance. You are welcome to share the wildflower meadow and pond area as well. For those that stay a little longer we can offer use of the outside washing machine and drying facilities by arrangement. Our policy is to welcome guests and show them the features of the hut and then to retire to our own space. We will not disturb you further unless requested. We are happy to answer any questions you have either by text, telephone or in person if you ring the doorbell. The North Chalk Downs is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a wealth of footpaths linking ancient rural villages. Green rolling hills above a chalk escarpment is typical landscape Pilgrims Hut is a short drive from the following attractions. Lullingstone Roman Villa, Lullingstone Castle and Gardens, Hever Castle & Gardens, Brandshatch, Kent Life Heritage Farm Park, Chatham Dockyard, Leeds Castle and Gardens, Spa Valley Railway, Tonbridge Castle, Sevenoaks Wildlife Centre and Great Comp Garden to name a few! There's a direct train service to London Victoria. Our accommodation is very convenient for Brands Hatch. A parking space is provided. The local village is a 7 minute walk. The railway station with trains to London, Victoria is a 5 minute drive or a 25 minute walk. Busses tend to run hourly. Brands Hatch is a eight minute drive away. There is a kitchenette with a 2 ring hob, small fridge and slow cooker. There is no oven or microwave due to space considerations. We have implemented NHS guidance regarding routine cleaning and cleansing of the Pilgrims Hut after each guest leaves. We routinely cleanall frequently touched work surfaces, tables, chairs, doorknobs, light switches, handles, shower, toilets, taps and sinks with anti bacterial surface cleaner that is recommended as a disinfectant that effectively combats viruses. We provide anti bacterial hand cleansing gel in the hut to help you keep yourself safe. We live a relatively short drive or train ride from London and as a consequence near busy Kent motorways enroute to the channel crossing. There is the hum of background road noise but, as you will see from our reviews, most people find Pilgrims Hut a secluded and tranquil space.
