Smoky Cart Lodge 1 bed flat with amazing views
Enjoy a break away from it all in the gorgeous cart lodge, with beautiful views over the Stour valley. There is a fully equipped kitchen, small dining area and sitting room, and private outdoor seating overlooking the valley. Perfectly positioned for fabulous walks through local woods, or to the riverbanks of the Stour itself. Freshly laid eggs and home produced honey are available when in season. Lots of good restaurants and pubs in the surrounding area, including in walking distance. Museums and galleries to visit, and wonderful castles and historic houses to tour. You are very welcome to take a picnic to our wildflower meadow or dell, and enjoy the buzzards circling above and the deer grazing on the bank. We are incredibly lucky to have a huge variety of bird and wildlife, from woodpeckers to barn owls, stoats to foxes. Please ask where is good to go on site as it varies with which area we have animals grazing or hay making. The horses are generally well behaved, but they are unpredictable, and may kick or bite if startled. Please don’t enter any field or area they are currently in. Also they must not be fed any titbits as one has an equine equivalent of diabetes. Do ask though if you would like to be introduced! There is nearly always someone around but you will very much be left in peace. However do just ask if you have any questions or we can do anything to improve your stay. Well behaved dogs are welcome provided they are kept on a lead the entire time they are outside the flat. We have our own dogs who like their own space, we also have guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, horses and sometimes sheep and pigs. It would be terrible for all involved if a dog was to chase or kill any of them out of excitement or accident. Please do pick up after your dog as we graze or make hay from a lot of the grass. We charge an extra £20 for the clean after a dog staying, and would appreciate if they stay off human bedding and sofas. There are lots of great walks and dog friendly pubs around to enjoy together as well!
