Bungalow at Sounio

Bungalow at Sounio overlooking the sea in former hotel grounds (Green Coast). Walking distance to Poseidon temple, one hour from Athens. Sleeps three. One bedroom with one double and one single beds, wc, kitchen, balcony, internet, safe parking. Breathtaking view. The bungalow is a totally independent property, located in the grounds of a former hotel, fifteen minutes on foot from the temple of Poseidon, and 7 Km or ten minutes by bus or car from Lavrio the nearest town. It is fully equipped and properly sleeps three on a single and a double bed. The property is situated below the street level and right above the sea. The view is breathtaking. Deep blue sea, even viewable from the beds. Guests have access to an open but fenced parking space and can freely use the shades and shower located at the beach. I always pick-up guests either from Lavrio (the nearest town) and take them to the bungalow by car, or at Green Coast in Sounio (the grounds where the bungalow is located). When meeting at Lavrio, guests usually do their main food shopping prior to driving to the bungalow. Please note that I live in the centre of Athens which is 60 Km away from from Sounio, and that I do not run a hotel, thus there is no 24/hour room service available. There is a caretaker available during most weekdays, who will assist in an emergency. He lives in Lavrio and - under special agreement - will also assist with luggage (if it is later in the day) or take care of things like extra cleaning, laundry etc. The bungalow is located in a former hotel and there are many other bungalows around, however the place is very peaceful and one can easily get isolated to work, have a much needed brake or just relax by the sea. The sea is right below the room, so one can go for a swim several times a day without having to get into a car or walk long - or even dress much. A bathing suit and the bungalow key is usually all that is needed. Poseidon's temple is about 15 minutes away on foot. And the sunset from the temple is just amazing. Lavrio is the nearest town which is about 7 km from the room or ten minutes by bus or car where one can find general shops, food shops, super markets, pharmacies, banks, a post office, coffee shops, restaurants, etc and even an open-air commercial summer cinema projecting the latest movies. KTEL busses are serving the region with a frequent bus service. There are busses from the airport to Lavrio and Sounio every hour and there are busses connecting Lavrio to Sounio and return, also one every hour. In Lavrio there are also private taxis that one can call by phone, available any time day or night. Heating is available at the bungalow and guests are welcome to use it as needed, however the heating cost is not included in the room price. That is determined by a reading of the electric meter before and after the stay. However heating is not really needed after April or before November. Internet is available all year round. The booking price was raised by 7 Euros per night due to new legislation valid after the 1st November (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) According to (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , after the 1st November (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) private rentals of less than 30 days are not considered holiday rentals and have to be registered online and taxed like any other private urban rental. The registration is quick and easy and all needed is a name and a valid passport number.
