The property is early Victorian, situated on a really quiet street. The room is light and airy, south-facing with a king size bed and black-out curtains. The private bathroom is adjacent. Tea and coffee-making facilities plus TV, hairdryer and free WiFi are available. A spacious, sunny, welcoming period family home where you can enjoy a complimentary self-service continental breakfast eaten in your own private dining room. A 5-minute stroll will take you into the beautiful Georgian town of Stamford, known for its wonderful shops and restaurants, and featured in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and the film Middlemarch. Particularly At the present time, I would like to reassure you that the bedroom, bathroom and dining room are for your exclusive use and the only communal areas are the hall and stairs. Regretfully there are no cooking facilities, but the dining room is available for guests' use in the evening and there are coffee and tea-making facilities in the bedroom. Although check-in time is listed as 4pm-9pm, it may be possible to check in earlier on request. Check out is 11am. An information pack detailing local places of interest, transport timetables and restaurant information is included in the room and your host will be on hand for further advice. Between us, we can speak English, French and Japanese. The house is located on a quiet street with no through-traffic, within a few minutes walk of the attractive Georgian town centre with its many shops and restaurants. Burghley House, best known for the world famous Horse Trials which take place there every year at the end of August, is also within easy walking distance. In addition to the beautiful house, the extensive grounds also boast a the Sculpture Garden and Garden of Surprises. Stamford Railway Station is a brisk ten minutes walk away, with connections via Peterborough to London and York, and direct trains to Leicester, Birmingham, Cambridge and Stansted Airport. Stamford is just off the A1M. There are three steps up to the front door, and the bedroom is located on the first floor. Parking is on-street, and there is a car park a short walk away at very reasonable rates if you prefer. For reasons of hygiene and cleanliness, we would ask guests to remove their shoes before going upstairs.
