Fishermans Hut campsite on the River Avon.

Fantastic views and frontage to the River Avon. Some may say quirky. Barbeque, camp fires and open air is what we are about. It is rough and it is ready. There is a Hut, a large Bell tent and a land-locked cabin cruiser. Cooking is on the campfire or a two burner stove. It is a great place to forget about the rest of the world. Three of Warwickshires best pubs within walking distance and Stratford itself only 4 miles away. Sorry no additional visitors are allowed on site. We emphasize this is not 'glamping'. Built over 15 years it is the most wonderful family space, a place to enjoy the outdoors in a unique environment. We are completely off grid but do have solar panels for lighting, phone charging and basic needs. There is a shower but it is not by any means a 'power shower'! There is a composting toilet and water comes from storage tanks. We supply mattresses and hand towels but you will need to bring sleeping bags or bedding . We try to run the site with as little impact on the environment as possible. Bring your canoe or stand up paddle board. Two cars maximum for parking. There are plenty of great walks from the hut. We live locally and would be available to offer any advice and sort out any problems. Richard is a licensed Boatman and has been navigating the Avon for over 40 years. The Shack is in a lovely spot with its own 70ft river frontage. Welford-0n-Avon is a prosperous village with excellent connections to Stratford-upon- Avon (10 minutes by road). There are Award winning pubs and restaurants within 15 minutes walk of the hut. Public transport is readily available into Stratford and beyond. There is also a mostly car-free route into Stratford, 'The Greenway', for walkers and cyclists. Both Richard and Sian have lived in the area all of their lives and can answer most questions you may have. Access is via a green lane which is very uneven and guests with low slung cars may will need to be very careful !
