VUNICA - is 200 years old Mud Brick House situated in the Park of Nature Kopacki rit. House by itself is rarity - national cultural heritage. It is fully renovated with ecological material, and its interior is combination of modern and traditional details. Brand name VUNICA comes from word "wool". Kopački rit Nature Park, also called the European Amazon, is situated in the central part of the Danube floodplain, between two important European rivers, the Drava and the Danube. It became a protected area in 1967 due to its values as a rare ecosystem, its rich biodiversity and important ecological values. The whole surface of the Park lies on 23.891 ha of which 7.143 ha are under higher protection being a Special Zoological Reserve. In 2012, the Park was declared as part of the Mura-Drava-Danube Biosphere Reserve under UNESCO. The main ecological significance of Kopački rit is comprised by flood dynamics, therefore, the Park is always different. The tame natural resources of this area enable you to discover the rich fauna, from small birds to large wild animals, like deer. Here the visitors can enjoy the gifts of nature, awakened by the scent of wild flowers, birds singing or by walking through oak forests that are extremely rare today. All the appliances in the apartment are available to use as well as outside inventories like bikes, summer terrace, using the car if necessary (host is driver/guide), barbecue and rest of stuff for outside cooking... Me and my wife are not living on site but we can be your tour guides and storytellers if you want, our little village Kopačevo have a rich history starting from ancient Rome... Our village Kopacevo is part of Park of Nature Kopački rit, one of Europes biggest nesting grounds for various spieces of birds. It is a unique eko-system.If you are in need to visit the city, it is only 13 kilometers away. Osijek city is the capital of our region also history rich with lots of things to see. Taxi service is about 5$ for a 5 kilometer drive. Parking is available at our house. Osijek Airport is aprox. 20 kilometers from our property. We can collect you if you arriving by train, bus, or airplane. Enjoy eating in traditional restaurants with fish/meat dishes.
