This beautiful and luxurious Studio Suite on the first floor of The Old Bakery on Eton High Street opened for bookings in July, 2019. Lovingly restored, it retains its stunning original features whilst introducing modern luxuries to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. The property is owned and professionally run by our interior design and build company which means we maintain it to a very high standard. Situated in the centre of historic Eton, this property is a five minute walk from the banks of the River Thames and the pedestrian bridge to the prestigious town of Windsor. The Studio oozes elegance. Designer interiors and finishes lend a luxurious feel to this high-ceilinged airy space. The Studio offers a king size bed with dressing table, a seating area with sofa and coffee table and an open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen. Off the entrance hall is a shower room with floor to ceiling marble tiles and underfloor heating for the cooler months. Luxuries include waffle robes hanging in the wardrobe; high quality bed linen; bathroom essentials including shampoo and toothpaste; Nespresso machine; and free WiFi. We are always on hand to help with advice via phone / email or the Airbnb app. We have a fantastic local team ensuring standards are of the highest, and our housekeeper who looks after the property day to day. Eton High Street is the secret jewel in the Crown of Windsor. Many tourists never cross the bridge which makes it just a five minute walk from Windsor's riverside. The High Street is lined with quaint antique shops and art galleries mixed with independent coffee shops and restaurants. Eton College itself is open to visitors and worth a look and of course just across the river is Windsor Castle and the famous Long Walk. Windsor offers great shopping, eating and drinking opportunities. Near the bridge there are boat trips for 40 minutes or two hours giving you a unique perspective on the two towns. The open top bus tour is a great way to see the area and even takes you out to the Royal Windsor Farm Shop where you can alight for lunch or a coffee. Windsor Racecourse is easily reached by car or boat and holds various race days and events during the year. In May the Windsor Horse Show brings lovers of the outdoors from all over the world to the town. In June the racing at Ascot steps up and we are perfectly placed as a base for visits to Ascot Week. In July Windsor hosts The Royal Horticultural Show in the grounds of Windsor Castle and at the other end of the year Christmas is a magical time in Eton and Windsor with stunning lights and decorations and various events including the brilliant pantomime at The Royal Windsor Theatre. The theatre is host to many touring plays and musicals and is really worth a visit and again is easily walkable from the property. Further afield is the infamous Cliveden Estate where you can enjoy the National Trust grounds and take afternoon tea in the hotel. And for foodies we have the town of Bray a 15 minute drive away hosting Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck and HindsHead restaurants as well as the Roux Family's Waterside Inn and Gian Carlo Caldesi's Caldesi en Campagna. There is public parking in Eton but once you arrive you are unlikely to need a car. You can leave a car overnight in the car park for £11 for any period of 5+ hours. Walking is the best way to see the two towns and taxis are easy to spot lined up on the hill for any out of town trips. COVID-19 policy The property is fully cleaned after every stay and the linen washed at high temperature. We leave at least 24 hours between guests at the moment and ask outgoing guests to leave the windows open when they depart. We provide anti bacterial dettol surface wipes and hand wash for your use and we wipe down the communal areas regularly with the same. Feel free to message with any questions. TRANSPORT There are two train stations just over the bridge in Windsor. Windsor & Eton Riverside offers two trains per hour direct to London Waterloo with stops along the way including Putney and Richmond. Windsor & Eton Central runs a lovely 6 minute train journey to Slough from where you can change on to the direct train to London Paddington. If you get the right connections you can get from Windsor to Paddington in around 35 minutes. If you arrive by car there is public parking in Eton a stones throw from the apartment. Cars can be left overnight for around £11 so long as a new ticket is purchased at 9am each day.
