The Cobbles, Howden (Apartment)

Beautifully appointed luxury apartment above award winning wine merchant and delicatessen in pretty historic market town of Howden. It is the perfect alternative to a Hotel offering freedom and greater space. Great base for visiting York/Leeds/Hull all within a 25-40 minute drive. Train Station - London KX 2 hours. Centrally located among a good selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Secure free parking on site for 1 vehicle The Cobbles is a new luxury apartment on the first floor above award winning Wine Merchant & Delicatessen Flourish & Prosper. Guests have parking in the courtyard to the rear of the building and at night can close the gate for extra security. The apartment has a fully fitted kitchen, separate double bedroom and spectacular en-suite walk in shower. In the sitting room is a sofa and should you need to do some work there is a desk and the apartment has wi-fi. There is also a smart TV which can connect to the internet. Outside of the apartment is a laundry room complete with washing machine and tumble dryer to which we can provide access on request. Part of the courtyard below is set out with tables and chairs and planted up with beautiful flowers during the summer. It forms part of a pop up wine bar open at weekends, but guests are welcome to use it. If you are arrive during the daytime its simplest to call into Flourish and Prosper who will show you around and explain where to park etc. Otherwise access is to the rear of the building down Vicar Lane. Our Gates are large pale green wooden ones and they are next to Bishops Bar & Bistro formerly known as Jay Jays. Once you come into the courtyard head for the rear door, there is a key safe on the wall where we leave the keys, the code for the key safe will be sent to you prior to your arrival. The lights in the hallway come on automatically and the apartment is on the first floor up a short flight of stairs. Sorry there is no lift, nor disabled access. Sean who manages the apartment owns Flourish & Prosper the Wine Merchants below and will always be on hand to help should you need it. The apartment has it own entrance so you can come and go as you please. Howden is a pretty market town with lots of cafes, independent shops and pubs. 'The Kitchen' is a very popular tearoom and bakery which is well worth a visit and the 'Cheese Shop' is popular for breakfast. Close to the apartment there are Indian and Chinese restaurants as well as Pizza takeaway and Fish and Chip shop. The Shire Hall hosts lots of live music and theatre events as well as a Friday market. In the center of Howden is a beautiful park called The Ashes should you want to stretch your legs. Howden is close to the M62 motorway and a short journey to Hull, Doncaster and York. Howden has its own station and its a hassle free way to get to Hull, York or Leeds. There is also a regular bus service and local taxi firms should you need them
