Safari Retreat

Safari Retreat is a private lifestyle like none other in South Africa. With free-roaming wildlife in your front garden, this is the perfect escape from the busy city and the ideal place to unwind and relax. Guests have access to the whole house, inclusive of three bedrooms, two bathrooms and additional guest loo. The main bedroom is en suite with a bath, shower, loo and double vanity. The kids room has a bunk bed and the third room has a double bed. These two rooms are across the passage from the family bathroom with a bath, shower, loo and basin. Guests will have their own private large garden and will be able to walk or ride on the trails around the reserve. Guests will have access to the driveway, for parking of six vehicles. Guests will not have access to the garage. The host will be available via cellphone and will not be on the property during the stay. Safari Retreat is situated in the middle of the Valley of a1000 Hills, and our views are outstanding. The retreat is a mere 7km from the bustling town of Hillcrest, where all retail stores, supermarkets, fast food and sit-down restaurants are available. Phezulu Estate is linked directly to Phezulu Safari Park, a major tourist attraction of KZN. At Phezulu village, the world famous Gasa clan has over the last 30 years, allowed visitors the opportunity to savour the taste and feel the rhythm of Africa. Visitors are taken into traditional beehive shaped thatched huts, where the various artifacts, beliefs and rituals are explained, giving foreigners an insight into the fascinating Zulu culture. The Zulu dancing show is impressive with the dancers in their traditional garb, showing off their skills with grace, agility and humour- a truly unforgettable experience! Phezulu also offers a Crocodile and Snake Park where knowledgeable guides will take our guests on a tour. They will meet Ramesis our 90 year old Nile crocodile and have a hands-on experience with Cleo our Burmese python that weighs in at 42 kilograms. The Boma Restaurant serves meals ranging from Traditional Zulu meals or Crocodile steaks to toasted sandwiches and burgers. Phezulu Safari Park has a one hour scenic Game drive.
