Castleton Derbyshire Peak District Cottage ❤️ Dogs
Our lovely little cottage is about 200 years old. It's cosy and slap bang in the middle of some of the best scenery the UK has to offer. Excellent for walking, cycling or simply site seeing the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District National Park. Castleton is such a pretty little town with it's own castle, 7 watering holes (all dog friendly) fabulous restaurants and delightful cafes. We are situated between Bakewell and Buxton. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR CLEANING YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY! Our cottage is typical of the area, however, we have renovated it to a very high standard. You will have all the mod cons required these days with the feeling of living in a historical building. My back ground is tourism so I know what you want when staying away from home. This is a cosy little place and from the outside looks quite small, but inside the rooms are moderate in size, perfect for up to four people, 2-3 dogs depending on their size. The sleeping arrangements are 1 double bedroom and the second bedroom is classed as a small double with a queen size bed. You are hiring the entire cottage, with total privacy. A key is supplied so that you can come and go at your own times. Currently there is no access from the back of the building with no rear garden. We live down the road and you shall have my mobile number. I love this area so would be more than happy to advise on where to go, or take you out for walks and show you our beautiful countryside. I can be available as much as you would like. Our village is unique for the area as we have so much to do within walking distance. Caves to explore, hundreds of walks and cycle routes, pony trekking, pot holing, paragliding, hand gliding, fell running or sight seeing. All the pubs in the village are dog friendly. We are in the shadow of Mam Tor in an area known as the Dark Peaks. Our valley is called Hope Valley and is a basin with undulating hills all around. It really is spectacular. The pubs serve excellent traditional British pub food and plenty of it, with real ales and Gin clubs. 1530 is a fantastic Mediterranean restaurant with a great wine list. There is currently free parking and public car parks around the village. Getting here by car is simple. If you need to use public transport busses run regularly from Sheffield and Bakewell servicing all villages enroute. There is also a train to Hope village (5 miles away) from Manchester and Sheffield. Throughout the year there are festivities going on in the area. Summer shows, Christmas carols in the caves. Just email me and I can tell you what is happening when you are thinking of visiting.
