The Old Granary, Pulborough

Nestled in the heart of Sussex, The Old Granary is a beautiful and tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Situated next to the owners period farmhouse, you are surrounded by green, giving you a real country living experience. Carefully refurbished to a high standard, this cottage has been sympathetically designed to accentuate the building’s original purpose as a grain store. The building is over 300 years old and there are beautiful exposed oak beams throughout. The kitchen and dining area, as well as a great spot to enjoy your surroundings, is fully equipped so you can self-cater easily during your stay. The kitchen includes a hob, microwave with grill over, fridge with compartment freezer, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. Lots of crockery and cutlery is provided, and a cafetière for real coffee fans. The Old Granary has one large double bedroom, with king size bed, which is situated on the ground floor, and the large luxury bathroom has a walk-in shower. Upstairs in the living room you will be wowed by the high vaulted ceiling and the stylish log burner at the end of the room. There is a large cosy sofa, perfect for snuggling down after a long day exploring the countryside and watching the large flat screen TV. There is a desk and reading lamp if you need to keep up with work whilst staying in the countryside, although you may be distracted by the views to the south over the fields. This property also comes with super fast WIFI and plenty of parking. There is a sitting area outside where you can enjoy eating al fresco. There are easy walks directly from the property. The area is quiet and peaceful - you will be able to enjoy the birdsong and if you are lucky, will spot the local barn owl in the early evenings! We live in the nearby farmhouse, but we will keep out of your way if you want us to: equally, we are usually on the spot if there is anything you need. Should you need us to organise anything special prior to your arrival, do let us know. We will provide a starter pack of tea, coffee, fresh milk, bread and butter. There are two small very friendly dogs who live with us but we are sorry we cannot accommodate pets staying in The Old Granary. West Chiltington is a charming village with a thirteenth century church and many lovely period buildings. We are surrounded by nice villages and market towns, such as Steyning, Petworth and Arundel - all of which have lovely coffee shops, boutiques, antique shops to browse and supermarkets with everything you need. Pulborough is the home of the RSPB and there are many beautiful walks and views over the Arun wetland valley. There are lovely walks straight from the property and within ten minutes you can be starting your walk on the South Downs. Petworth Park is around twenty minutes drive way. You can reach Billingshurst station in about seven minutes with trains to London, Gatwick and the south coast.
