A unique stay in a country home with private sauna

A private room with a private en-suite and a traditional Finnish sauna in a family home. Enjoy the beautiful view over a field where deer and moose often graze. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful. Only 5km from Kirkkonummi center, 30 mins from Helsinki. Adrian and Linda welcome you to stay at their wonderful homestead in the Finnish Farmland. Located ten minutes drive from Kirkkonummi train station, we are within 30 minutes of Helsinki city centre. Our neighborhood includes the world famous Saltfjärden Wetland where you can see over a hundred species of local and visiting birds. We are also close to Porkkala, an area of outstanding natural beauty as well as the Linlo harbor and recreation area. A very popular farm shop and cafe in the adjoining farm attracts a loyal following from far and wide every weekend and is a must-visit. Your room accommodates two, has a large en-suite, private, double shower room with rainwater showers and attached private Sauna. Wood is provided for a session. A fridge, kettle and microwave in the room allow you to cater to your own tastes and you are welcome to use the gas BBQ facilities as well in the summer time. The dish washing soap can be found from below the basin. All bed linen and towels are provided fresh per stay and of course, we adhere to Airbnb's 5 stage cleaning regimen between guests. The room overlooks a field that enjoys visits most days from up to 4 species of deer, ranging from the shy roe deer to the mighty moose. The little garden area in front of the room is a perfect place to sit after the sauna and enjoy the view and listen to the birds in the woods. There are blackout blinds in the room to guarantee the best quality of sleep even during the Finnish summer when the sun hardly sets at all! The room keeps nice and cool even during the hottest summer days. If you are feeling adventurous and it is the season, explore the neighboring woods for blueberries, wild strawberries, cranberries, and raspberries. Our friendly family of 6 people+ 2 cats lives in the house but your room, bathroom, and sauna are only for your use. You may hear some sounds of normal family life, such as kids' laughter, steps, music practice, etc. However, we don't stay up late or get up early! The water pump makes a quiet sound when it is on when water is running. There are some earplugs available should you need them. The location is easily accessible by road and there is ample free parking on site. The location is very quiet, peaceful and safe. Ask about the possibility of a ride to/from Kirkkonummi. 10€ a ride. The navigator takes you to our mailbox. Continue on the small dirt road. Our house is in the end of this little road. You can leave your car in front of the greenhouse. The room is located in the bottom floor of the house, on the side of the fields. Walk between the house and the greenhouse and you will find the right door to enter. We are always happy to help! We are available most of the time and would love to meet our visitors. Please read the folder in the room for all the instructions. The beautiful location is in the middle of fields and forests but only 5km from Kirkkonummi center. * Close to Porkkala, Meiko and Linlo outing areas. In Porkkala just recently there were a bunch of seals seen! * 30 km to Helsinki city center by car. * A lovely farm shop "Maatilapuoti - Gårdsboden" only 1 km away (open only Fri-Sun) with local produce and a cafe. * Rehndahl Farm 2 km away. * Peuramaa Golf / Ski Resort 10 mins away. * The Saltfjärden Bird Watch Tower is about 4 km away. Free parking next to the house. Inquire the possibility of transportation from the train station for 10€. The sauna is a traditional Finnish sauna that is heated with wood. It takes about 1-1,5 hours to have the sauna ready. We are happy to heat it ready for you if you are for example coming from a hike (extra fee 5€) or you can do it yourself. We are happy to guide you with this. Guests will be provided firewood upon request. In the room, there is a fireplace too but we ask that you only burn candles there. We do have cats as part of our family; they are unlikely to pay you a visit. We ask that you use alcohol in moderation and absolutely NO smoking is allowed either indoors or outside. No parties allowed. The bed sleeps 2 adults, but a third mattress is available on request for a child.
