Set on a former dairy farm, on the Berkshire/Hampshire border, The Old Dairy is a newly converted ground floor studio flat finished to a superb standard. With views towards Watership Down, located off a quiet country lane leading directly into the Greenham Common nature reserve; it offers a very restful, rural retreat. Ideal for cyclists, hikers and nature-lovers, red kite circle overhead, deer wander through and we even have a tame local peacock! Close to Highclere Castle, Newbury Racecourse. Completed in April 2021, the former farm building was converted into The Old Dairy on the ground floor and The Hay Loft above. Both apartments are able to share a ground floor lobby and can be booked together when joining up with friends or relatives. In an elevated location, The 2 flats enjoy southerly views over the lovely gardens set within 3 acres, with Watership Down in the distance. The internal space is both light and airy and warm and cosy, with a soothing colour scheme, underfloor heating in the bathroom and modern lighting. Facilities include Super-king size bed, 4-seater sofa-bed, dining table with 4 chairs, built-in wardrobe, WiFi, USB charging points, fridge, dishwasher, microwave combi-oven, hob, kettle, toaster, water filter jug, crockery, cutlery, utensils, hairdryer, iron, hangers, linen and towels. Welcome pack including milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, soap, shampoo, conditioner, dishwasher tablets. Immediately to the front is a Mediterranean-inspired gravel garden. Outdoor furniture is provided to enjoy the sunshine or relax under cover. I will mostly be on hand to show guests where everything is, but generally it is auto check in via the key lock. The easiest way to get hold of me is via the Airbnb email system and I will usually respond within a few minutes or come and help out as required. The location is on the edge of Greenham Common Nature Reserve. Via a handy pedestrian gate, It is a short walk onto the heart of the common where New Forest ponies run free. The former air traffic control tower is a great place to visit having been converted into a cafe and museum in recent years. We are located 3 miles from Newbury railway station and 1 mile from Thatcham railway station, so it is possible to get here via train and taxi. We are at a very convenient starting off point for exploring by bike. Please inform me if you are bringing a pet. Strictly no puppies and preferably dogs at least a year old. More than one dog only on request.
