Stylish self contained home close to Alton Towers

The Reading Room is a beautiful, self-contained period annexe set in a small, peaceful village on the edge of the Peak District and within easy reach of Alto Towers. It has recently been modernised and furnished to create a comfortable and stylish space in which to relax and explore the surroundings countryside, local towns and cities. The light and airy kitchen/living area is open plan and comes complete with a newly installed kitchen, microwave oven and all other kitchen necessities. The living area boasts not only a wall-mounted, flat-screen tv but also a large, comfortable corner sofa which converts into a roomy double bed. There is plenty of storage space available, along with a fold down dining table with seating. The bedroom is light, cosy and comfortable with a modern and stylish fully equipped en-suite shower room . There is a utility room in the front entrance of the property which has a washing- machine, iron and ironing board, an extra fridge and a freezer all of which you are more than welcome to use. You are also welcome to share our garden, but please be aware we own an extremely friendly border terrior and an equally friendly little cat who both love visitors! There is secure off street parking to the front of the property and on street parking is also available. We can accommodate additional guests within the main house if required but at an extra cost. As we live in the main house, for the most part we will be available to welcome you, hand over the keys and answer any questions you may have about the Reading Room or the surrounding areas. If we are not available, we can arrange for the keys to be collected from a neighbour or a mutually agreed safe place. Doveridge is a charming and active little village set on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire boarder. The river Dove flows around the south side of the village providing stunning walks and scenery. The village boasts a post office and well stocked shop, a cosy tea room and a pub which provides food and regular live music. There is also a children's park, a skatepark and a large playing field/football pitch which are open to public all year round . The historic church of St Cuthberts is a must see for visitors - within the churchyard beneath the spreading canopy of the 1500 year old oak tree, Robin Hood and Maid Marion were rumoured to have wed. The nearest town to Doveridge is Uttoxeter which is only a 5 minute drive or 30 mins walk away and boasts a train station, many high street shops, bars and restaurants, leisure centres, racecourse and cinema/bowling/ice skating. Alton Towers theme park is also only a short drive away as is the picturesque town of Ashbourne regarded by most as the gateway to the Peak District. Doveridge itself is only a short distance off the A50 if driving to us by car. The cities of Derby and Stafford are easily accessible and only a 30 minute drive away. We are a dog loving family and warmly welcome up to two well behaved dogs in the reading room. We would appreciate if you could clear up after your dogs both inside and outside the property - if you need any extra doggy towels,blankets, poo bags etc please don’t hesitate to ask us. There is a charge of £10 per dog payable on arrival. We look forward to meeting you furry friends !
