Cosy Cottage in North Bedfordshire village
Guests will have the ground floor of the cottage to themselves, comprising of a fully fitted kitchen with a fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The downstairs can be isolated by guest locking the bedroom and living room doors. The upstairs of the cottage is used by the hosts ( home office) - this is accessed via the front door. Our aim is to ensure guests have total privacy in the ground floor of the cottage. Guests have use of the ground floor of the cottage. Fully functioning kitchen, living room with dining table. Double bedroom with en-suite shower room Guests are welcome to use the patio/courtyard. This will be shared with the hosts. However, it does facilitate guests to be able to sit on their own should they want to. The cottage is next to the Barn where we live, we are happy to support guests when required. The cottage is in the village of Wilden in North Bedfordshire; 5 miles from the centre of Bedford and 9 miles from St Neots. Currently our village pub (June 2021) is closed. The owner is currently looking for a new landlord. There is a Co-op and Aldi within 3 miles should you want to buy a drink to enjoy when your are here. Pell’s farm shop is a mile outside the village and sells fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as wonderful plants. It’s worth a visit if you’re a keen gardener. We have Pebbles Beauty in the village - so if you want a pamper we can provide contact details for Adele and the treatments she offers. There are beautiful country walks to enjoy around the area. We highly recommend The Plough, a restaurant in Bolnhurst (3 miles away) the food and hospitality is fantastic. We have 2 drives at the property - please park on the gravel drive to the left of the property. You can then access the property via the gate at the back of the drive. We have two cats on the premises, they do not have access to the cottage. However, it is likely you will meet Cleo (black Oriental) she is friendly and rather bold - and doesn’t have a tail due to an accident. Our tabby Shyla (is aptly named, she is rather shy ) although, as she used to live in the cottage, you may just discover her sitting on your window sill. If you leave the door open for. Too long you just might have company! Due to our cats we are unable to welcome any pets, sorry. If you are a smoker - please smoke in the courtyard - do not smoke in the cottage - we politely ask that you do not smoke at the front door. (Ashtrays available on request)
