Stunning Studio Barn, Buxted
Our chalet-inspired studio barn, with vaulted ceilings and oak beams, is light and airy in the summer and beautifully warm and cosy in the winter, with underfloor heating throughout. It is completely self-contained, with a separate entrance from the adjacent family house. With a sumptuous superking bed (or two twins), sofa bed, unlimited fast WiFi and HDTV, you are assured of a relaxing and welcoming stay in a family-friendly setting in the East Sussex countryside (with no cleaning fee!) Situated in a peaceful rural setting, The Studio (large room & en suite shower) is incredibly flexible with one sofa bed (with mattress topper) and an extra mattresses that can go on the floor, if necessary. The Super Kingsize bed has a 1500 independent-spring, pocket-sprung mattress with hypoallergenic fillings. It can be divided into two. There are blackout blinds throughout the studio. The shower-room has underfloor heating and a rain-head shower with soap, shampoo & conditioner supplied. There is a heated towel rail and large butler sink. There is a large desk and ergonomic office chair in one area of the studio, perfect for laptop work, with views onto the sunny garden. Unlimited Fibre-WiFi delivers fast internet speeds and The Studio has 24 plug sockets so you'll not struggle to find one! We can also offer business facilities like printing and photocopying, if required. Guests can also enjoy our brand new 55" Smart Panasonic HDTV. A kettle, tea and fresh coffee are also provided with fresh milk in the fridge. While there is no kitchen, there is a toaster and microwave should you feel peckish with bowls, side-plates and cutlery provided. For the kids there is lego and a train track to have fun with! Our established garden leads directly onto woodland walks in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it's also a great area for bike riding. The lovely studio is adjacent to our family home with a small friendly dog (Squiffy) a cat (Balthazar) and our young children and we are on-hand should you need anything in particular. You are free to come and go and remain as private as you wish. We live in a very peaceful part of the countryside, yet you could walk to the local station and Buxted Inn in less than 20 minutes. There are wonderful walks in the vicinity being on the doorstep of Winnie the Pooh's Ashdown Forest. The house is on the Vanguard Way, a long distance walk of around 66 miles from East Croydon in outer London to Newhaven on the south coast of England. Buxted train station with direct services to London Bridge is just 3 minutes drive from our house, or you could walk it in 20 minutes. We could also pick you up if required. Buxted station is just a few minutes drive from the property and we’d be quite happy, if we are around, to pick guests up from the station and drive them back. There are some fantastic local pubs nearby including the traditional Harveys' Blackboys Inn and the Buxted Inn (15 mins walk) does a great cooked breakfast and other meals. We can suggest loads of amazing alternatives! Uckfield town centre is just 10-minutes drive (or a 5 min train from Buxted) and offers plenty of great local shopping. We recommend Hartfields for lovely breakfasts and coffee. The Picture House Uckfield is a rare treat - an independent cinema showing all the latest releases and cultural screenings. Local attractions abound, Wilderness Wood is just up the road and has a woodland cafe, forest walks and children's activities. Hever Castle and Gardens (the childhood home of Anne Boleyn), The Bluebell Railway and the 14-mile Cuckoo Trail for walking and cycling. There are several National Trust attractions nearby including Bodiam Castle, Bateman's (Rudyard Kipling's home), Sheffield Park, Nymans, Scotney Castle and Wakehurst Place. Tunbridge Wells, with its luxury shopping, is half an hour away, with Brighton taking about 40 minutes, The historic town of Lewes is well worth a visit and the Ashdown Forest is on our doorstep, with the opera at Glyndbourne being around 20 minutes from the front door. The Buxted Park Hotel is five minutes drive from the studio, for those attending weddings or concerts. Gatwick Airport is 45 minutes.
