Beach Residence 3 Bedroom Luxury at Carlisle Bay
“The Beach Residence at Carlisle Bay” is set in lush tropical gardens in the world acclaimed luxury resort of Carlisle Bay on a perfect Caribbean white sand beach in one of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean. Facing south west, it is surrounded by emerald green tropical rain forest hills and National Park with nature trails. “The Beach Residence” is an owner’s private suite with prime position on the beach. It is one of only four double suites classified as Carlisle Suites. The resort has a further 78 single suites. The Beach residence is maintained by the hotel to their exacting standard. This fabulous suite (222 sq m or 2, 400 sq ft) has three spacious bedrooms with magnificent en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom and drawing room feature dramatic 15 ft (5 m) high cathedral ceilings leading on to a 400 sq ft (37 sq m) terrace overlooking the beach at the centremost point of the bay, with a wooden staircase directly to the white sand and turquoise waters below. The master bedroom and drawing room have the latest HD large screen tvs and wifi. Air conditioning is throughout. Each of the three large double bedrooms has a stately ensuite bathroom with substantial shower area and family sized bath. The galley kitchen is modestly equipped. Guests may enjoy full maid and room service at the level they chose subject to the Carlisle Bay tariff. Guests of “The Residence” have full access to all of the hotel and beach facilities for a guest fee of $15 per day per adult. These include four restaurants: “East” , one of Antigua’s best restaurants - open for dinner only, East attracts guests from all over the island. The fuchsia and dark wood interior has an exotic Asian feel. The restaurant is entered via tall Indonesian carved doors and serves Japanese, Thai, and Indonesian dishes with sushi, sashimi and Balinese specialties. “Indigo on the Beach”, the dramatic centre piece of Carlisle Bay opening onto the beach with views of Monserrat on the horizon. Dishes tend toward the fresh and healthy - grilled seafood, salads, home-made breads and pastas - while children can enjoy the flexible menus designed just for them. “Ottimo”, a casual Italian venue beside the pool, open for lunch and dinner with tables nestled in the shade. Classic dishes with the freshest of Italian ingredients emerge from the authentic wood-burning pizza oven. Salads, antipasti and homemade gelato and even a Little Ottimo! menu for children. “The Jetty Grill”, for adult’s only, is on the beach adjacent to the jetty and serves grilled meats and fresh seafood. Three alluring bars: “The Pavilion Bar” is in the elegant, open-sided principal pavilion with traditional wooden shutters that open up to let the scents of sea and rain forest fill the air, furnished with deep sofas, soft lighting and quiet corners for an intimate drink. “Indigo Bar” is an open-sided bar beside the beach with simple rattan chairs and sofas where guests gather at any hour for cocktails, fruit punches and drinks. “The Jetty Bar” is a foot-in-the-sand bar to catch a drink when coming in from the sea. Fresh coconut cocktails and beers feature with light bites and sun downers served around the fire pit (made from an old ‘copper’, which was originally used to boil cane juice). Carlisle Bay has a fabulous range of resort facilities which include: “The Blue Spa” a magnificent two floor pavilion with an elegant meditative atmosphere conducive to total relaxation and well-being. It incorporates six beautifully designed treatment rooms, including one for couples, a wet room and sauna. The spa menu includes facials, massages and scrubs and “The Beauty Salon” offers a full range of manicures, pedicures, waxing and hairstyling and other services. “The Fitness Centre is spectacularly equipped and features Technogym equipment in a comfortable air-conditioned space adjacent to the spa. Trainers are available by request and 60 minute personal training sessions cost USD120 per person. “The Yoga Pavilion” is used for regular group and private classes in both yoga and Pilates, is located in a peaceful corner of the tropical garden. A private yoga or Pilates session costs USD $100 per hour. “Tennis”. Nine well-maintained tennis courts (three floodlit). Rackets and balls are provided. Professional instruction is available at all levels with complimentary weekly clinics. “Water sports” are complimentary with a team of expert staff. Activities include sailing, kayaking in the mangrove, snorkelling, windsurfing and paddle boarding. Motorised water sports such as water skiing, wakeboarding and tubing take place in a neighbouring cove in order to preserve the tranquillity of Carlisle Bay and are chargeable. PADI four day courses are available, as well as Discover Scuba one-day courses and the PADI Bubblemaker program introducing children aged 8 years and above to scuba diving, to a maximum depth of 2 metres. Snorkelling equipment is provided free of charge. Caribbean deep sea fishing is second to none in the waters off Antigua, with marlin, king fish, wahoo and barracuda all common. Various charters with exceptional skippers are available. As a guideline, it costs from $550 for six guests on a four-hour trip aboard a 40ft sport fishing boat. Available for hire, the brand new luxury Fjord 36' cruising yacht is perfect for a day trip to Nelson's Dockyard; a UNESCO Heritage site, a fishing expedition or a romantic sunset cruise. “Caribbean Cool Kids Club”, open seven days a week, is suitable for children aged six months to six years and is supervised by qualified childcare professionals and has its own paddling pool, sand pit and jungle gym. It is free for children over 2 and $15 per hour for children from 6 months to 2 years. “The Screening Room” is a fully equipped multimedia space with DVD projection, 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround sound and an adjustable screen (widescreen to cinemascope) accommodating up to 45 with midnight-blue leather, Italian-made seats with nightly movies. “The Library” with its funky fibre optic lighting which changes colour throughout the evening, has an eclectic collection of books which includes the top ten beach reads of leading travel journalists and was described as “The coolest library in the world” by the Financial Times. “The Boutique” has the latest exclusive beach fashions and accessories as well as essentials and carefully selected gifts. Carlisle Bay is 15 minutes along the stunningly beautiful coast road to Jolly Harbour resort with its shops, restaurants and bars and Epicurian Supermarket, equivalent to Waitrose in England or a leading markets in the US. The sensational Sheer restaurant, settled on "sheer" rocks above the water and Jackie O's South of France style restaurant are 12 minutes away. The historic UNESCO World Heritage English Harbour and the Falmouth Marina with fabulous restaurants, Catherine's on thePigeon Beach, Rhum Baba and many bars and restaurants, is an enchanting 30 minute drive through the rain forest and National Park. The capital, St John's, with its historic Redcliffe Key and duty free shopping is also 30 minutes by car. Guests can be assisted with car hire or taxi's which are always available and can be reserved by the concierge. Guests pay a $15 per adult per day resort fee which covers all hotel and resort facilities, beach towels, water sports, tennis etc.
