This unique house sleeps 12 guests. Superb and spacious contemporary designed home nestled between the foot of the South Downs and Amberley Wild Brooks an 800 acre flood plane and RSPB nature reserve. The Rook is a uniquely designed house with heaps of entertaining space including its large open plan kitchen dining and seating area, a further large mezzanine lounge and floating terrace with outdoor seating/dining. From there expect to see wild deer, foxes, owls, eagles and of course the resident rooks who live in the surrounding ancient trees. To see more photos of the house check us out on insta @therookretreat The hi spec contemporary kitchen is fitted with all the mod cons, including boiling water tap, Neff/Bosch appliances, waste disposal unit, tall fridge and pantry. Whilst the Rook's interior is awash with vibrant colours and textures, with contemporary art, neon, clay plaster wall finishes and a blend of antique and modern furnishings all working together to make this a haven for lovers of design. Outside you’ll find a wood burning hot tub (fits 12 adults) with sun deck, large lawn, private bluebell woods (1.5 acres) with yoga platform, meditation pod, out side woodland retreat for many guests. The hot tub is not in use between October and end of May. Currently as of March 2022 we do not have a hot tub in situ but we will be replacing this by June 2022 ready for summer bookings We welcome families, with facilities including triple bunk beds, cot and high chair available on request. Please note that the sofa bed in the master bedroom is a small double and bunk beds are small singles - perfect t for kids or light adults! We have recently created a special woodland retreat on the grounds with fire pits and out door dinning for even the biggest of families. No parties are allowed whilst we have government restrictions for covid. For those of you looking for a more chilled out stay, we link with a team of wellness practitioners who can offer private Yoga, Pilates, sound bath and meditation classes, vegan and raw food cookery courses, private chef, Personal Trainers, bike hire including E bikes, and tutorials in other creative pursuits such as art and photography. We can give you their direct contact details to arrange all those wonderful extras- booking subject to availability Surrounding the house in all directions there are beautiful walks a plenty, with 3 excellent pubs and a restaurants in Amberley Village. Arundel and it’s famous castle are just a short 10 minute drive, with several award winning beaches, including Littlehampton, West Witterings and Climping just little further. If you want to explore further there are plenty of interesting things to see, including Bignor Roman Villa (5 miles), NyTimber vineyard (5miles) Brighton (20 miles), Guildford (28 miles) and Chichester and Goodwood (12 miles). We provide fresh linen, hair dryer, towels and a whole selection of tea for you to choose from. Free wifi, Apple TV (no BBC) You are welcome to access the whole house. We are warm and friendly hosts, chilled about opening our space up to to others. We'll be here to greet you and show you the ropes, then its over to you. We can guide you with suggestions of what to do locally and even help find childcare if given enough notice.
