Dovecote Barn is a converted barn dwelling finished to a very high standard and beautifully situated in the 13 acres of pasture and gardens surrounding Moat Farm a remarkable grade 2* listed moated farmhouse dating from the 16th century and of considerable architectural and historic interest. The barn is blessed with delightful aspects overlooking the farmhouse and next to a 16th century Dovecote. The barn is equipped to a very high level with good quality beds and bedding, a full complement of crockery, utensils and appliances, and quality entertainment systems. Dovecote Barn is a self contained dwelling sitting in the grounds of moat Farm the home of your hosts Peter & Jude. You have the run of the entirety of Dovecote Barn along with its outside parking space, terrace and lawn. You are also free to roam around the entirety of the Moat Farm grounds extending to 13 acres of meadow and gardens. We encourage our guests to utilise a further BBQ area near our fallen oak in the meadow which provides for a delightful "far from the madding crowd" away from it all experience. As your host, Jude, although resident on site, my aim is to provide you with your own space and privacy during your stay at Dovecote Barn. I aim to stay unobtrusively in the background, but certainly available and keen to assist with anything that will enhance your stay. you have only to ask and I can give you advice on local attractions, pubs, restaurants, transport links, assistance with any matters relating to the operation of the Barn. Dormston is a delightful hamlet set in the heart of the gently rolling Worcestershire countryside not far from the border with Warwickshire and laying between the Cathedral City of Worcester and Shakespeare's Stratford on Avon. The nearby village of Inkberrow is said to be the inspiration for Ambridge in the long running radio classic “The Archers”, along with its pub also “”The Bull”, and where “Archers” memorabilia photos adorn the walls and show Moat Farm with cast members outside being used as a backdrop to depict Brookfield Farm. In the immediate vicinity are a number of fine pubs offering everything from simple snacks to gastro dining. Newspapers, and groceries are less than 1 mile away in a convenience store, and for the keen cook, gastronomic supplies are available from the award winning Hillers Farm Shop around 10 minutes drive away. Dormston is a very convenient springboard for many of the attractions the Heart of England has to offer. To the South are the picture book villages and handsome towns of the Cotswold's with gems such as Broadway and Chipping Camden not much more than 30 minutes away. To the South West and also just over 30 minutes away is the famous Georgian spa town of Cheltenham with its many restaurants, and fine shopping and its wonderful race course. To the west and 20 minutes away is the famous city of Worcester with its celebrated cathedral on the banks of the River Severn. Beyond Worcester are the majestic Malvern Hills and the town of Malvern famous for its water and fine views. Further west the hop fields of the Teme Valley, and to the North West, the gastronomic centre that is Ludlow with its choice of Michelin starred Restaurants. Around 30 miles to the north, is the UK's second city Birmingham, with its Symphony Hall, fine shopping, wealth of restaurants, home of the Balti, and its many canals, the NEC and many other attractions. To the North West are the historic town of Warwick with its majestic Castle, and another fine spa town in Leamington. Finally to the west and around 25 minutes away is Stratford on Avon with its many attractions and of course the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Dovecote Barn is the ideal base for enthusiastic walkers (surrounded by a dense network of footpaths); families who want to explore the countryside and the many nearby day visit attractions, and is an ideal base for visitors to the NEC at Birmingham, The Royal Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford, of the world class Horse racing at Cheltenham. WE ARE DOG FRIENDLY ALTHOUGH WE REQUEST YOU TO TELL US IN ADVANCE AND WOULD NOT GENERALLY EXPECT MORE THAN TWO. THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL FLAT RATE £10 DOG CHARGE PER STAY. THE AIRBNB BOOKING SYSTEM DOES NOT PROVIDE FOR DOGS HENCE THIS CHARGE IS NOT PART OF THE AIRBNB BILLING AND YOU WILL NEED TO SETTLE SEPARATELY AND DIRECTLY WITH US PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. THE ONLY STIPULATION WE MAKE WITH YOUR DOGS IS THAT YOU SHOULD AVOID LEAVING THEM UNATTENDED IN DOVECOTE BARN FOR ANY EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE BEDS. OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOUR OFFERS DOG BOARDING AND DAYCARE IF YOU WISH TO GO OUT WITHOUT YOUR DOG.
