Woodland Bell Tent in the South Downs

Our Bell Tent sits in Ancient Sussex Woodland on our 100 acre family farm on the edge of the South Downs National Park and is within easy reach of Brighton.Our 5m Bell Tent provides a perfect bolthole for a romantic mini break or just a quiet break to the Sussex countryside. Our nearby pubs include The Ginger Fox and The Shepherd and Dog which both serve incredible seasonal food. We have wonderful walks from our doorstep and acres of land and woodland to explore. Switch off, sit back and relax. The Bell Tent is set on the edge of ancient bluebell woodland which is surrounded by open fields. The tent benefits from a comfortable double bed to curl up in as well as a pair of bamboo rattan armchairs to recline in around a table. Bed linen is provided along with a selection of books, magazines and games. Crockery, cutlery, mugs, glasses , pots and pans are all included. We provide spare blankets, all tucked away in the trunk. Kindling, chopped wood, newspaper and matches are provided for the fire pit which is located a few paces from the tent. Perfect for a magical evening around the fire. We provide guests with a breakfast hamper on arrival which includes fresh eggs from our chickens, bread, milk, butter and jam. A compost loo is located a one minute walk away. The tent itself is completely off grid, with pretty battery and solar powered lighting, making it a very romantic space come nightfall. These 5 metre deluxe bell tents are fabulously roomy.  At 12' high in the centre, there's plenty of wiggle room, and with a massive 5 metre diameter, they provide a palatial pad for two. If you're new to bell tent camping, the benefits are not just in size.  Camping under natural cotton canvas is a completely different experience to the standard polyester tent to sleep in.  No waking up feeling parched and sweaty....The breathable nature of the material, together with the four big vents the tents have, means you are actually sleeping in the fresh air. The vents have a separate bug screen, allowing the air to circulate through the tent, which all in all is very conducive to a good night's rest. During your stay you’ll have the fields and woods to explore and are able to walk through the main part of the farm in order to gain access to the lane which leads you to further country walks. I love meeting and chatting to our guests and am more than happy to offer recommendations on things to do nearby. Our cottage is few minutes walk away from the hut so if guests need anything or have any questions i'm happy for them to pop over or drop me a text. I am the third generation of my family to live on the farm and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. I hope you love the area as much as me. We’re extremely lucky to be in the middle of the Sussex countryside and yet only a 15 minute bus ride to Brighton or a ten minute drive to our closest train station. We have to fantastic pubs within a few miles of the farm which both serve outstanding food and drink There is plenty of parking available. The number 17 bus to/from Brighton goes past our farm every half an hour and only takes 15 minutes to get to the city centre. Hassocks train station is an 8 minute taxi ride away. The tent is completely separate to our other Shepherds Hut listing, however they do share a compost loo located nearby. Please be aware that the bell tent is a 3 minute walk from where you leave your car. We provide a wheel barrow so that you can easily take your overnight things to the tent.
