The town of Sundhagen, located between the Hanseatic cities of Greifswald and Stralsund, is the gateway to the island of Ruegen. From April to October, you can reach Rügen by a ferry that sails between Stahlbrode and Glewitz. There are many attractions on the island, such as the Königsstuhl National Park, the Dinosaurland in Spyker and numerous seaside resorts. The city of Stralsund located just a few minutes' drive away, is the ideal place for relaxing and strolling, especially in the great old town with many historically important buildings. Imposing Gothic buildings, such as the magnificent City Hall in the Old Market, parish churches, monasteries and centuries-old merchant houses with magnificent gables give the townscape its special charm.
