Gorgeous cottage in Nidderdale

Wake up to beautiful sunrises and far reaching views over the valley to Guisecliff. Sit watching the world go by and hear the birds chattering in the Oaks on the village green. Enjoy dining al fresco under the cherry blossom tree in the sun soaked garden. From the front door turn right down the lane, over the old railway bridge, through the fields and along the river to the award winning market town of Pateley Bridge. The perfect place to find peace and relaxation. This traditional stone cottage has a light and airy feel inside with the morning sun streaming in through the front windows. By afternoon the sun is in the back garden creating a sun soaked terrace for outside dining. The kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine to make a longer stay as easy as possible. There is an outside washing line and indoor clothes airer. The bedrooms are comfortable and have plenty of room to store your clothing. Bedding is provided. An ironing board and iron are in the double bedroom. A hairdryer is kept in the wardrobe. The heating system is efficient and the boiler provides instant hot water for your bath or shower. Shampoo, Conditioner, soap and towels are provided. The cottage has private parking at the back but you may prefer to pull up to drop off your bags at the front for ease of offloading. I am available for help and advice. The pretty village of Glasshouses has a friendly community. Coming together at village events on the Green. Watching the children dance around the maypole on May Day, Open air cinema, Carol singing, events in the village hall. Cricket matches take place at the bottom of the village. ( Covid restrictions have put events on hold for now). The cottage is ideally located above the green. There are some lovely walks in all directions where you can enjoy nature or head towards the award winning Pateley Bridge just 3 miles down the road. The cottage is ideally located close to peaceful, scenic walks through woodland and fields. A short three minute drive away is the award winning Pateley Bridge where you can find everything you need during your stay. The High Street has a Spar grocery store, a bakery, two award winning Butchers, a fish mongers and a fish and chip shop. A curry house, Pancake house. the Crown Public house and pizza take away. Off the High Street is Kings Court a cobbled courtyard where Earnshaw’s Herbal Dispenary stocks a wide and fascinating range of herbal medicines. I work from the Construction room with John the medical Herbalist! Just Delicious cafe, owned by Donna, serves up delicious homemade bakes and has won many awards for the quality of her produce. Opposite is Jack and Jill a collaborative collection of local artists work for sale. Lovely unique gifts to take home. Next door is a beautiful well stocked florist. Through the other exit onto back High Street is a delicious takeaway Sandwich Box. Open early for breakfast takeaways this is always busy with locals. Over the river Nidd is Olley’s Pizzaria, Dales market corner with fuel station, Parkview Stores bakery and grocery store serving freshly made sandwiches to order. On a sunny day it’s lovely to take an outside lunch in the park and watch the bowls or listen to music in the bandstand through the summer time each Sunday. If you are travelling with children there is a nice park, basketball, hoop and football pitch beyond the bandstand. Further along the road is Upper Nidderdale High school and Leisure Centre with swimming pool. open Monday to Friday 5.30pm until 9pm Saturday and Sunday 8am until 4pm.
