Garden Cottage is a quaint and tranquil barn conversion, located in the heart of the beautiful Northumberland Countryside, approximately 2 miles off the A68. The cottage boasts beautiful views near and far. The cottage has many windows which takes great advantage of the beautiful surroundings, looking on to the peaceful country views, court yard and paddocks. We also have an occasional barn owl. The cottage is next door to the farm house. Please be aware, for your own safety and to respond to the pandemic, we have made temporary alterations to the cottage in line with air b&b's new cleaning policy. I do not offer tea and coffee however, I do supply bare essentials and a few additional extras such as: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toilet roll, washing liquid as well as towels etc. I don’t supply oil in the kitchen. There are no other holiday properties onsite apart from Garden Cottage. This means that the people booking will be the only ones onsite (other than us as the owners, who are next door in the farm house). Garden Cottage offers something for everyone, whether it is a romantic break, business or for walking/cycling. The living, landing area and sleeping areas are very spacious and clean as well as a large garden to relax in on those sunny days. The wet room is SMALL. A small warning: The bathroom is very small, consisting of a toilet, sink and walk in shower (wet room). There is no bath. The bathroom has a glass door, which has an opaque covering and is to the side of the kitchen. The heating is turned off in the cottage during May - September. The heating will be turned on in circumstances where it is unusually cold. It's important that guests are comfortable at all times. The garden is shared however, in response to the pandemic we do not use it while guests are staying at the cottage. To book the cottage with the hot tub, please see separate listing. This advert is strictly without the hot tub due to price difference. The hot tub sits IN FRONT of the cottage. Check in is after 3pm and not before. Checkout is before 11am. PLEASE do not book if you want extra people to stay. The fee per night is for 2 guests ONLY. There are no options to pay for additional guests. Guests have access to parking on site and the garden situated in front of Garden Cottage. 1 parking space for guests. Please request if more space is needed. Check in is self check-in however, I will try greet guests whenever I can. Interaction with guests can be as much or as little as is required. We are flexible, all you need to do is ask. We are here to make your stay as relaxing and as comfortable as possible. If you would also like to meet the horses and/or dogs. Please don't hesitate to ask, I love introducing them to new people! Garden Cottage is situated in the middle of country side, but within easy reach of the A68 for anyone wanting to go on any expeditions by car! There are many public footpaths to take advantage of, as well as the beautiful garden and stunning views at the Cottage itself. There are many places to visit in the surrounding areas so it is advised that guests wanting to explore should spend more than one night at our cottage. The owners of Garden Cottage take no responsibility for any losses or damage whilst using our storage facilities. There are also some lovely local pubs, including the Manor House Inn, which is only 2 miles from the Cottage. This can also be accessed on foot. Travelling further afield, the Anchor Inn is also a good quality, local pub. The Manor House Inn is popular so be sure to book in advance if you’re planning to eat at the Manor House Inn. Visiting Wheelbirks ice cream parlour is also a must for some traditional pub grub as well as freshly made, decadent ice cream! The farm is approximately 15 minutes away from Garden Cottage. If you are wanting a spa day to fully relax, you can visit Slaley hall where you can book yourself In to a spa day! They also have golf! There are many public footpaths situated around Garden Cottage to explore, so there is a lot to explore on foot however, if guests would like to visit historical areas such as Hexham, a car is required. Note: There is no local public transport such as bus/train etc. There are many local taxi services. The property to which Garden Cottage sits within has 3 dogs, 3 horses and 1 cat. The cat does live outside and may be in the garden from time to time. Please note that the sofa bed is in the bedroom. There is no tea and coffee supplied in the cottage. For long term guests (over 1 week), I will provide fresh bedding, towels and kitchen towels. These will be placed in the wardrobe for safe keeping. Washing/Drying of clothes is provided for a SMALL FEE of £5 per load during your stay, if this is requested. Long term stays of a month, washing is provided free of charge, one load per week. Cleaning of the cottage during your stay is not provided. It is a self catering cottage. NOTE: Cuttlery/utensils/games, blankets have been minimised in the cottage on a temporary basis, due to Covid-19.
