Tentrr State Park Site - WV Blackwater Falls State Park - Site A - Single Camp

Summary: Blackwater Falls State Park is the perfect destination for swimming, birding, camping, hiking or just plain relaxing and enjoying the unsurpassed natural beauty. Enjoy the cool waters of Pendleton Lake! Take a dip or rent a kayak, canoe, paddleboat or stand up paddle board! There are many great fishing opportunities at Blackwater Falls State Park! you can catch bass, bluegill, catfish and trout at Pendleton Lake. The nearby Blackwater River also is regularly stocked with trout in the spring and summer. There are over 22 miles of hiking trail and miles of biking trails! Game courts and equipment such as tennis, volleyball and basketball are available during the summer months at Blackwater. In the winter, be sure and plan your trip to see and experience the Blackwater Falls Sled Runcomplete with a 14,000-foot Wonder Carpet conveyorthe longest in North America! There is a warming hut where toboggans are rented, cross country skis and snowshoes are also available with lessons. The Warming Hut offers a full menu of hot drinks, homemade soups and hearty stews to nourish you after a long day in the snow. A large fire ring is available and the park offers seasonal programs for our winter visitors in addition to spring, summer and fall guests. Campsite A is a hike-in site and it is approximately a 15 minute walk from the parking location to the tent. It is equipped with a pre-set sturdy canvas tent on it's own wooden deck platform. The tent is furnished with a queen-size memory foam mattress, side tables, and a propane tent heater. A picnic table, fire pit with a grill, a solar shower, and portable camp loo are also provided, and campers are able to use the park's restroom facilities as well. There is an additional pop up tent provided for extra guests, but you will have to bring your own air mattresses/sleeping pads for this tent. The Space: Hike-in campsite in Blackwater Falls State Park Other Things to Note: Be sure to bring your own food, firewood and bedding. There is no electricity available at your Tentrr site. Anything you pack in, you must pack out. All trash MUST be deposited in a designated receptacle at the end of your stay. If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee. Please beware that there are rattlesnakes, bears and other forest dwellers in this area. They are important members of the natural community, so we ask that you give them distance and respect for the safety of all. Have a wonderful stay! Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. If a Tentrr Camp Guide submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
