The Cottage is attached to the Old Rectory, sitting on the banks of the River Coln and opposite the church in the attractive village of Quenington, in the Cotswolds, some 7 miles from the bustling market town of Cirencester and forty minutes drive from Cheltenham and its world famous racecourse. Originally staff quarters for the main house, The Cottage is self-contained with its own entrance. It has 2 upstairs bedrooms and a bathroom, and downstairs is the kitchen, cosy sitting room and laundry closet. The Cottage has been recently refurbished and the new kingsize and 2 single beds will be made up with white, egyptian cotton linens. Set within private 5-acre gardens, which are host to a biennial sculpture show, The Cottage has been decorated with interesting artworks and objects from the owners’ collection as well as plenty of books. The cottage has its own private garden, but the owner's large 5-acre garden may be accessed by prior arrangement. There is a private heated swimming pool, which can be made available for occasional guest use by prior arrangement, for which an additional charge will be payable. The pool is not available year round, shutting down from October to April. The Cottage is completely self contained, but the owners live next door and there is always someone around if you need any help. The local pub, The Keeper’s Arms which has a convivial atmosphere and serves delicious lunches and dinners from Wednesday to Sunday. The next door village, Coln St Aldwyns, is home to the New Inn, well known for its good food and ambiance. With a 5 minute drive you will find you in the market town of Fairford, where you will find cafés, pubs, and shops. The Cotswold Water Park, Cirencester and Cheltenham are both within an easy drive.
