Siren is a stunning floating home from home in the heart of Newark, Nottinghamshire. Close to Newark Castle, Lincoln & Nottingham, you are not short of interesting places to visit all around Siren. A great escape, wake up to waterside views and enjoy the tranquility of this wildlife haven with stunning walks in all directions. stones throw from Newarks rich history. Fantastic restaurants are close by but rest assured, Siren has everything you need to self cater for you entire trip if preferred. What's Provided on Siren? - The oak dining table drops down and becomes a double bed. - The two single seating areas transform into two large single beds. - Hotel quality linen & towels. - Fully equipped kitchen with all the cooking utensils, plastic glasses, pots & pans you will need for your getaway on Siren. - 70 / 30 split fridge freezer. - Electric ceramic two ring hob. - Large capacity microwave / oven / grill. - Ninja 5 litre air fryer. - Underfloor heating built into the walls throughout Siren controlled via 2 thermostats in the cabin. - Air conditioning unit with optional blow heater function. - LED cabin lights inside & out controlled via dimmers. - Small shower room with flushing loo and running hot water to the sink & shower. See notes below for more info. - 240v sockets and USB charging points through out. - FAST wi-fi router in the cabin, perfect for streaming to the smart TV or working from Siren. - Smart TV with an ultra HD Netflix account logged in and ready to watch. - Household essentials (tea towel, toilet roll, soap, washing up liquid, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, kitchen towel, olive oil, salt & vinegar, tea and coffee). - Large outdoor decking and seating The marina is stunning and has free parking areas, bins, showers, toilets & washing machine facilities. Please use the W/C facilities on the marina as much as possible & avoid using the shower and toilet on board unless nature should make the call in the night :) You will be met on site and and given an access fob as well as the key to the beautiful Siren. We will be more than happy to answer any questions and help in any way we can to enhance your stay on Siren. Things to do in Nottinghamshire and nearby: Newark on Trent is a pretty market town with lots happening. Explore the castle and gardens, visit the Civil War Centre to discover Newark’s pivotal role in the English Civil War, browse the busy markets – among the best on the UK - and don’t miss the Newark Air Museum. At the Newark Showground enjoy everything from Antique and Collectors Fairs to the Nottinghamshire County Show. If nature and the great outdoors beckon, you couldn’t be better placed. Sherwood Forest is just a short drive and Balderton Lake is a hidden gem in Newark, for walking, birdwatching and fishing. City life is close by too, with Nottingham and Lincoln both around 20 miles away. Please note: - Siren is permanently moored at the marina and wont be available for guests to take out on the river. A river cruise boat is available to book separately and directly with the local operator - search Newark River Cruise online for more info. - All duvets, bedding and pillows are provided, however you will need to make your bed each night as they are used as common seating areas during the day. - Due to the nature of Siren being on the water we highly discourage very young children from staying on her, she will be here for years to come and we would love to have them stay when they are a little older. - Please respect Siren and her neighbours, hours and hours of work has gone into making her the beautifully restored boat she is today and we want our guests to enjoy and respect her as we do. - Low level music is allowed up until 10pm but again, please be respectful of everyone around you. - There are stunning walks in nearly every direction, please ask if you need any advice on walks and what to do in the area. - Unfortunately we cannot allow pets onto Siren. - Due to the size and nature of Siren, no stag or hen groups are allowed to stay on Siren,. She is best suited to a couple or a small family for an amazing unique getaway. Any groups deemed to be breaking these rules will be denied entry at the check in stage. - Please take your shoes off when inside Siren, she is exactly 100 years old and brand new all at the same time!
