Beautiful appartment, very close to city centre

Are you looking for a lovely upstairs apartment with balcony, at walking distance of the city centre of Groningen? Congratulations, you just found it. This is an ideal location to explore the georgious town of Groningen. The Noorderplantsoen (park) is just around the corner. The apartment is luxurious, spacious (appr. 75 m2) and offers basically everything you need for a pleasant stay. Parking is possible in the neighborhood, and there is a parking garage nearby (Q-Park Westerhaven). The apartment offers a beautiful and stylish living room with kitchen and dinner area. The living room gives acces to a balcony. On the topfloor there are 2 bedrooms (the large one with a kingsize bed and the small one with a single bed), as well as the bathroom with toiler, bath, shower and wash/dry combination. Due to the size of bedroom 2, the apartment is furnished for 3 people. It is possible to add an luxureous inflatable bed in the small bedroom, to accomodate 4 guests in total. If this is required, please contact me prior to booking, to discuss the pricing. The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay, also for longer term stays. This includes dishwasher, wash/dry combination, ironing board, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, microwave/oven combination, well equipped kitchen (including pans, cutlery, etc) and linen. In order to make sure you are safe during your stay, fire extinguishers, a fire blanket, First Aid kit, a CO detector, and smoke detectors are available. Due to steep stairways (well, it is a house from the 1890-ies, so yeah, it has its charmes), the apartment is not suitable for small kids and disabled people. During loverly summer days and evenings, it is possible to make use of my courtyard, which can be discussed during your stay. Guest have access to all rooms in the upstairs apartment. Please note that the steep staircases are not suitable for small children and disabled people. I think privacy is important, but whenever you have questions, I am always willing to support. And if you enjoy a nice conversation over a cup of coffee, thea or drink, I am more than willing to join you if I am around. I am living underneath the apartment, so normally am nearby if and when assistance is required. The apartment is located on the top floors of a house from the late 19th century. It is located in the charming "Schildersbuurt" neighborhood at walking distance of city centre. This apartment offers everything required to truly enjoy the lovely city of Groningen. You need to cross a bridge to enter city centre, which is located around 300 m from the apartment. Right accross the bridge you will find the famous Vismarkt, Grote Markt, the Herestraat, the Kromme Elleboog neighborhood and the bars and discotheques around the Poelestraat. What really is fantastic, is the vicinity of the beautiful Noordplantsoen (Groningen's Central Park), which is less then a 5 minute walk. The perfect spot to stroll around and have a drink on a lazy, sunny Sunday. Groningen is well known for its many diners and restaurant, but if you feel like preparing your own meal, please do so in the well equipped kitchen. As per the 1st of January 2020, unfortunately the parking rules in our neighbourhood have changed. The new rules are: Costs: € 4,00 per hour - via parking machine or parking app: max 2 hours parking allowed. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 09:00 - 22:00 hr. Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 09:00 - 00:00 hr. Sunday and Holidays: 12:00 - 17:00 hr. There are limited parking spaces though. I have a parking permit for guests, with a limited amount of hours to park for free in the neighbourhood. I will try to use this permit to cover the parking on the day of arrival. In most cases this will be possible, but I cannot guarantee it. There is a Q-Park garage nearby (appr. 300 m) and it recommended to first go to the apartment to drop luggage and receive the key, and then to go to the Q-Park. Q-Park charges EUR 1,00 per 18 minutes, with a maximum of EUR 19,50 per day. Important: Due to ongoing major roadworks on the southern circular road of Groningen, coming from the east (German border) or the south (Assen) may cause delays. It is advisable to check the situation prior to departure. The apartment is located at the west of the city centre, so coming from the west should not give too much trouble. Also note that driving in the city can be a bit confusing if you're unfamiliar with the city. In the city centre cars are banned and there are quite a few one-direction roads.
