Stay in our pleasant self contained duplex apartment with stunning views of Shipley Glen and a 5 minute walk to the World Heritage village of Saltaire. A cosy bedroom sleeps two and has a private shower room. A bright and spacious lounge with single sofa beds allows 2 extra guests. Exclusive use of a large fully equipped dining kitchen with conservatory and direct balcony access, in addition to a covered garden patio. Access our 'upside down' apartment via your own separate entrance at the back of this large, Edwardian semi - detached villa. The lower ground floor has plenty of light and has a sunken garden where you can shade from the setting sun in the late afternoon. Enter into a Frida Kahlo inspired, quirky lounge with two sofa beds, plenty of storage space and on demand TV. This room is wonderfully cool in summer but warms up in Winter to create a cosy space. Next door is a double bedroom with crisp white bed linen, built in wardrobe storage and art deco dressing table. A shower room & toilet is right next door. There is ample room for a family of four. However, please note the advertised base price is for 2 people using 1 bedroom only. Use of the lounge as an extra bedroom will incur an extra cost. If you are two friends and wish to use both rooms for sleeping (rather than a couple sharing the double bed), please book for 3 guests as extra bedding will need to be paid for. Via an internal hallway, a flight of stairs leads to the bathroom and separate toilet. These rooms are decorated to reflect our love of travel. The dining kitchen is our favourite room in the building - it is wonderfully bright and has been recently redecorated to bring you a glimpse of faraway places. There is a double oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine. The kitchen is spacious enough to cater for a family and has all the equipment you need. Enjoy after-dinner drinks in our balcony conservatory, a recent addition to make use of the balcony all year round where you can watch the birds and see beautiful sunsets over woodland view. From the conservatory you can access a small balcony - a real suntrap and just big enough for four. You'll have sole use of the bedroom, shower room and lounge, which are on the lower ground floor of our four storey house. The kitchen diner is above on the ground floor where you'll also find a further bathroom with bath. The apartment is within our large family house but is self contained and therefore allows guests to have a good degree of privacy. Sound proofing between the apartment and our own, above also cuts down on noise. We live in the rest of the building and ask that we keep these rooms private. Free parking is available on our residential street. We look forward to welcoming you and are readily available if you need anything. We'll generally keep ourselves to ourselves but more than happy to give you hints on how to get the most of our wonderful village Saltaire is a World Heritage site due to its wonderful mixture of social history and architecture making it a great place for a cultural stay. A Victorian model village created by Sir Titus Salt in the mid 1800s. The apartment is on the edge of the village. For those who love the outdoors we are 5 minutes from woodland and canalside walking or cycling. Salts Mill provides eclectic shopping in a beautiful location and there are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. We are ten minutes walk to the train station and within half an hours drive or train ride to historic Haworth (home village of the Bronte sisters), Skipton (Gateway market town to the Yorkshire Dales), the Victorian spa towns of Ilkley & Harrogate, the vibrant alternative town of Hebden Bridge and the buzzing cosmopolitan city of Leeds. Buses to these towns / cities also run frequently from the top of our street Please note that this apartment is unsuitable for those guests with restricted mobility. Access to the entrance is down four stone steps with some limitation on headroom due to the balcony above.
