The perfect location for a family gathering or reunion with treasured friends, Old Glebe sits in an idyllic countryside location, offering peace and tranquillity to those looking to escape the hubbub of daily life for a relaxing holiday. It is hard to find the real countryside so easily accessible from central London, Gatwick or Heathrow Airports. Waldron is perfect in every way. A lovely little village complete with gastro pub and a romantic church and all set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our home is totally private with views over the South Downs to the sea at Beachy Head yet within commuter distance from central London and only 30 minutes from the South Coast of England. The property sleeps up to 21 guests across two houses; the main house and the stable. The main house caters for 15 within 7 beautifully styled bedrooms, 3 of which are en-suites. The master bedroom – equipped with en-suite open plan shower room also boasts an enticing free-standing bath within the bedroom itself. In the stables, a further 6 can sleep within 3 bedrooms, one of which is en-suite, also with free-standing bath within the bedroom. The stables is never let out to other groups during your stay, so if you require the main house only, you still have privacy. There are also additional fold-out beds, a futon and an upper bunk which are available for a further 8 guests. In total 28/29 adults/children could be accommodated including the z-beds across the 2 buildings. Designed with gathering in mind, at the heart of the main house lies a beautiful open plan kitchen and dining area with sofa, central island and an enormous dining table that’s ideal for hosting both formal and informal meals. The large, inviting lounge is another space that lends itself perfectly to congregating en mass and presents the opportunity to enjoy some fast-paced fun all-together; its ping-pong table is quite the crowd-pleaser. A warm and inviting space, the lounge also has a TV/DVD player and features a cosy snug area and open fireplace. Those travelling with children will also enjoy making use of the colourful games room, equipped with TV/DVD/Xbox and colourful bean bags. Set within 30 acres of gardens and farmland, the house is up a long cherry tree lined drive, safe for children and dogs. The sweeping lawns boast tennis/football court, outdoor pool (available April-October most years) and a vast terrace area perfect for al fresco dining and BBQ; this gives way to a characterful wooded area (with hammocks, camp fires and view of the sunset), ripe for exploration and adventure or a spot of croquet on the lawn. A kitchen garden and orchard (help yourselves) and plenty of space to explore and have fun/play games or you can play some of croquet on the front lawn. There are even some stables and a paddock if a pony needs to come along too (by separate arrangement). Old Glebe is wonderful for the imagination and to have an adventure in your own space and land. Strict Pool Rules must be observed for your own safety. The pool has an electric safety cover. Open April - Oct (most years). Utility Room: Big House: Washing machine, laundry line, outside washing lines, iron and ironing board, etc. Stable Cottage: iron and ironing board, etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen /Maid Service: Cleaning during your stay by arrangement priced at £16 per hour. After stay clean is included in the price if house left tidy and organized with everything back in place. Linen included. Pets charged at £10 per night/per pet Broadband/WIFI which can be slow with 20 people all logged in. The price of The Big House with Stable Cottage together is for up to 20 people, thereafter we charge £25 per guest/per night they stay up to a maximum of 29. 3 night minimum over weekends 2 night minimum mid-week 4 nights minimum over bank holiday weekends 7 nights minimum for Christmas/New Year and Peak summer holidays.
