High House Cottage is nestled away in a beautiful, secluded & tranquil spot on Addingham Moorside (adjacent to the famous Ilkley Moor). It‘a a short drive or stroll to Addingham, Ilkley & Bolton Abbey. It’s the perfect place to base yourself to explore the stunning beauty the region has to offer. Cosy yet spacious cottage in a secluded, south facing ‘get away from it all’ location but close to village centre. Would suit walkers, cyclists, couples, families & all those wishing to explore the local area. Thought to have originally been a cow shed & attached to the main farmhouse (family home) dating back to 1690s. Very private with its own access, parking & garden. Furnished with families & couples in mind, the cottage would also suit walkers or cyclists. Sociable and well behaved dogs & pets very welcome. Guests have exclusive access to the whole house, garden & all fields immediately adjacent to property. Hosts are available at all times by phone or email & as the cottage is attached to our family home, we would be glad to offer local tips, recommendations or advice to help make your stay more memorable - please ask....! Addingham Moorside is only a short drive or stroll from Addingham village with 5 pubs, shops, chemist, etc. The famous spa town of Ilkley is 3 miles away - independent restaurants, bars, shops, coffee shops, a welcoming independent cinema & of course, the legendary Ilkley Moor. But although the moor is spellbinding, there are LOADS of other things to do & places to visit locally so don’t sleep (too much) ! Skipton - vibrant market town & the official Gateway to the Dales - is 10 minutes drive & the beautiful Bolton Abbey estate is exactly 3.4 miles. There are some amazing walks in this part of the world & some good wild swimming spots along the River Wharfe. High House Cottage is an ideal as a base yourself to soak up all the surrounding area has to offer. Please read our reviews You can get parked immediately outside the property - walk, cycle or drive. If you don’t fancy those options, there are great 24hr local taxis we use all the time. The cottage is not a bus route. Please note there are chickens, sheep & sometimes cattle adjacent to the cottage. Dogs must be kept either on a lead or fully under owners control if not. Access is down a farm track that is rough in areas. We use it every day in normal cars with no problem but care must be taken until you get to know it a bit. We’ve set the cottage up primarily for families and couples. We will not accept groups or people wanting to host parties in the cottage. We donate 12% of your total booking to Alzheimer’s charities
