Fishing is available in the river Canche from the owner’s garden or from the bridge near the cottage (permit required). Although quiet, this property is a good base for exploring this pretty region of northern France. The sandy beaches of the Cote d’Opale are just 35km away or visit the market town of Hesdin, Montreuil-sur-Mer with its ramparts and panoramic views or St Omer with its canals, cobbled squares and flower displays in the summer. April sees the International Kite Festival at Berck Plage and Abbeville and Arras make interesting days out or venture into the nearby Somme department for WW1 history.
