Only two kilometer away is the Village Stiens (for all groceries). Somewhat further away are cozy old towns like Dokkum, Franeker, Harlingen, Bolsward and Sneek all within half an hour traveling. The water in front of the house is called Finkumervaart and is about 25 meters wide and 2 meters deep and is a part of the famous iceskating route of the 11 cities. Bartlehiem with its famous bridge is located 4 kilometers away. In Finkumervaart you can swim, fish and sail. Fishing In Finkumervaart there is a lot of fishing available on roach (fishing from the jetty or porch), but also quite a lot of pike, these can be caught from the jetty but especially from a boat ( with a bit of fishermans luck). Eel and pike perch and other whitefish are also regularly caught. In the garden a free to use pvc rowing boat is available. Ibn case you would like to come by boat, a 20 meter pier is available.
