The New Farmhouse

A fabulous lodge set in its own private grounds with glorious views all round. It sleeps 8 comfortably in 3 bedrooms and a double sofa bed and with a cosy wood burning stove it offers a wonderful home from home for all your friends and family. Nestled at the edge of the Scottish Borders, you are less than 2 miles from Biggar where you will find everything you need for a memorable holiday. Lots for the whole family to enjoy including museums, castles, mountain biking and golf. This spacious lodge has an open plan living area, snug and kitchen/dining area. The living area has wood burning stove and opens onto a veranda. There is a bathroom downstairs and a twin bedroom. Upstairs there is a king size bedroom which is en-suite and a further twin room which is also en-suite. There is a double sofa bed on the large landing. The kitchen is very well equipped and all linen and towels are provided. Whole house and garden Whilst I normally leave you to check in at your own convenience, I am only 5 minutes away by car should you need anything. The house enjoys a lovely quiet location in its own private garden with our farm fields on 3 sides. There are generally sheep or cows grazing in the fields so we ask you to keep dogs on leads and not to go into the fields if there are lambs or cattle near. Shared access to the house is through a developed farm steading so please respect the privacy of the other residents. Biggar is less than 2 miles away where you will find everything you need including cafes, restaurants and unique gift shops. Although you feel as though you are away from it all, Edinburgh and Glasgow are reached within an hour as are many stately homes and castles and the world class mountain biking centre at Glentress and Innerlethen. The house is located at the rear of a developed farm steading just off the A72. PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS AS SATNAV TAKES YOU TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. Travelling north through Biggar, take first right for A72 Peebles/Skirling. Towards the end of the straight you will see The New Farmhouse on the left at the back of Skirling Mill. Please make sure you take third left into Skirling Mill, the entrance nearest Skirling and follow the road through to the back past a high wooden fence. There is a large brown workshop in front of you and the entrance to The New Farmhouse is to the right of it.There is private parking in the garden. By bus: 91 bus Peebles to Biggar. Check Border buses website for details. By train: Train stations are located in Lanark and Carstairs. See the First Group website for timetables and fares. By air: The nearest airports are at Edinburgh and Glasgow. The house has its own private garden with parking. There is shared access to the property but guests should please note that the rest of Skirling Mill is privately owned by other individuals and not connected to The New Farmhouse so please respect the privacy of other residents. Please also be aware that there can be livestock in the fields next to the house.
