Hut 2 Herdwick

Sitting by a hedgerow at the edge of a working farmyard the Hut looks out over its own grassy corner to open fields and water meadows beyond. The picnic table and fire-pit outside the hut make it a lovely spot for an outdoor supper on a long summer evening. In winter stoke up the tiny wood-burner in the hut to hunker down for a warm night sheltered from anything the weather throws at you. We built Hut No 2 " Herdwick" on traditional cast iron wheels with a solid ash wood floor. A tiny bathroom at one end of the hut has a deep bath tub for a really good soak. The kitchen area has a slate worktop with a Belfast sink and gas hob. Underneath is a full sized fridge and cupboards with a good collection of cooking equipment. The king sized bed has a deep pocket sprung mattress for a very comfortable night's sleep. In Summer throw open the top of the stable door to let in the sun and the evening air. In Winter thickly insulated walls will shut out the iciest wind and the wood-burning stove will keep you warm and cosy on the bitterest winter night. Barnham Court Farm sits on the flat coastal plain between the Downs and the Sea. It has a wonderful variety of bird and other wildlife which live on the farmland and the extensive low lying water-meadows. Easy access to delightful footpaths and cycle path.
