La Chaumiere , Beachview, Port Elizabeth

La Chaumiere, with DSTV and WIFI, is situated in the seaside village of Beachview, about 25 kilometers from the Port Elizabeth Airport. 180 Degrees of uninterrupted ocean views , an abundance of whales, dolphins and exquisite sunsets will want you coming back again and again. This is the perfect getaway for stunning beaches (Sardinia Bay and Maitlands) and game parks (Seaview Lion Park and Kragga Kamma game park) all very close by. Our motto: Relax, Respect, Rejuvenate..... La Chaumiere has a large indoor braai/BBQ room (with a pizza oven too) which is the focal point of the house. This leads onto a deck which is where you will witness the best ever sunsets. A beautiful new open plan kitchen with granite tops overlooks the cosy sitting area, and is ideal for those cooler autumn and winter evenings if you don’t want to use the braai room. The two bedrooms downstairs are accessible without stairs. The third bedroom, which is up a flight of 10 stairs, is huge and has French doors leading onto a large verandah. The modern bathroom has a very spacious shower but no bath. It is important to note the following: Due to the thatch roof, BBQs/braaiing is only permitted in the 2 designated areas. Braaiing on the deck is strictly prohibited. Although there are 2 TVs we recommend you bring your decoder or DVD player. La Chaumiere shares the garden and external braai area with an adjoining house, solely used by family members. So briefly, the two houses are side by side, with one perimeter wall. Smoking is not permitted inside the house. The whole house is for your use. In the garage you will find a large white outdoor table and chairs, as well as umbrellas. Beachview is a seaside village approximately 20 kilometers from Port Elizabeth, a perfect destination for peace and tranquility, away from the busy city life. A convenience store (Spar) is located about 2.5 ks away in Seaview. For the greater part of the year, gulleys and rock pools make for interesting days spent snorkling and looking for all types of marine creatures. And then other times the sand comes in, and a game of beach tennis or sand castle building will keep you busy. If you are looking for vaste dunes of unspoilt beach, Maitland Beach is just 5 minutes away by car. Maitland Beach is also an ideal location for fishing. For the walking and hiking enthusiasts, there are a number of stunning walks close by viz. Maitland Beach, Maitland Forest and The Island, all less than 7 minutes by car. There are a number of restaurants around, with The Elephant Walk being well known for its fine cuisine. In walking distance and with sweeping views of the ocean, Barnacles, is a relaxed family restaurant specialising in seafood. The well known surfing mecca of Jeffrey’s Bay is a 40 min drive.
