Converted in 2018, Grade II listed The Lodge at Bridge House is a boutique, self-contained, 2 storey accommodation in central Petersfield, a market town in the heart of the South Downs. Attached to our family home but with private entrance and off-street parking, The Lodge offers guests a stylish living/dining area, a comfortable galleried bedroom upstairs and outdoor seating area. Located 0.4 miles away from the bustling market town of Petersfield. Free Wi-Fi and self check-in available. The Lodge at Bridge House is unique in the area and has all the space you will need to make your stay comfortable. From the outside seating area, the front door leads you into a large, open-plan, stylish living area with sofa & television and dining table. A Smart TV is connected to both BT TV with all the usual channels & Apple TV with Netflix & Prime, which you can log in to with your own account details. You can also stream to the TV via Apple TV from your iPhone, tablet & laptop. Remember to log out of Netflix and/or Prime when you leave! The modern, fully fitted kitchen is accessed from the living area and offers an oven with hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is a great selection of saucepans, plates & dishes with all you need for cooking dinner after a busy day touring the local area. Complimentary tea and coffee, cereals, milk, bottled water & snacks are provided, alongside a small welcome pack and some essential toiletries that often get forgotten! Just off the kitchen are the two bathrooms complete with power shower. We provide towels for use within The Lodge but please do bring your own beach towels if you’re headed to either West Wittering or Southsea, just two of the fabulous beaches within easy reach. Upstairs, the gallery bedroom is beautifully presented and feels light and airy. The Queen-size double bed is made with crisp white linen and comfy pillows. The room also features a seating area for those quiet moments and a small study space with a Mac for your own use. High speed WIFI is provided at no extra cost and available throughout. A sofa bed (for one person) can be made available with all the required linen and we are also able to offer 2 kids bed chairs/floor mattresses for the smaller ones in the family (please note, these are not suitable for adults). We can also provide a travel cot if required. Petersfield, only a few minutes walk away, is perfectly located in the glorious countryside that is the South Downs National Park. The Lodge is only minutes away from some beautiful walks across this stunning landscape. Head up to Poets Stone for a challenging hike or simply chose a gentle stroll to the Harrow Inn, one of the world's oldest pubs! Petersfield is a bustling market town with regular traditional markets both Wednesdays and Saturdays. In additional the Hampshire travelling farmers market pops up one Sunday a month. Baked goodies and locally made produce are all on offer. The town regularly holds events where the entire town centre is filled with stalls of homemade produce/goods, music and food tents. These events are always during the May bank & August bank holiday and carry on regardless of the weather! Petersfield is well equipped with Waitrose, Tesco & Marks & Spencer but we also have some fabulous local eateries and shops which are all worth a visit (if you can fit them all in!) from a fabulous butcher, Deli’s, coffee shops and traditional pubs to tucked away tapas bar. Petersfield also boasts The Heath, which is a wonderful town centre lake and green countryside, with a playground and café. The Lodge is only a 5-minute walk to the train station where South Western Railways will take you to Portsmouth Harbour in 30 minutes, where you will find the famous outlet centre Gunwharf and the historic Naval dockyard. Just a short stroll from here will take you to the pebbly but stunning beach of Southsea and connections to the Isle of Wight. Going North the train will take you to London Waterloo in just over an hour. If Sandy beaches are your thing, we are only 40 minutes away from the fabulous beaches of Witterings. Please note, due to current restrictions it is advisable to book your parking space as it is limited. If you’re a racing fan, we are only a 30-minute drive from Goodwood and for any polo enthusiasts, only 20 minutes from Cowdray park. Located just off the A3, we are only around an hour from the outskirts of London.
