La Vieille Longere - the name we give to our ancient Norman longhouse is in a beautiful and tranquil little hamlet of 3 houses on a quiet path that leads to forest and country walks directly from the house, down to the river or into the village of Segrie-Fontaine just 1 Km away where there are well stocked local shops. The countryside is stunning, ancient woodlands and pasture land amid rolling hills. We adore the area and are certain you will too ! La Suisse Normande is a very special, protected part of Normandy; completely different from its surrounding areas with forested rolling hills, deep valleys and fast flowing rivers. It is the tranquility and the peacefulness of the place that endears it to us and all of our guests go home having shared in its experience. You'll need transport to get here as buses are sadly infrequent, but arriving by train in Caen from Paris is easy and there are all the usual car hire companies at the station. BUT ... if you are a keen cyclist then please do come by bike. You will love it - a cyclist's paradise. We have a locked cellar where you can safely leave your bikes too. We have a varietyof bikes that you are welcome to borrow if you want to discover the region of La Suisse Normande in a more sedate manner !
