Great Bardfield is a beautiful village 20 minutes from Stansted Airport and 15 minutes from Braintree. Bucks House is situated in the centre of the village. We are opposite one pub and another is two minutes walk. Bucks House was built in 1510, so has lots of period features which have been preserved. There is a good pub serving food. There is a book shop that serves delicious home made cakes, a coffee shop serving paninis and sandwiches, and a vintage painted furniture shop. Village shop is very good and serves all basic food stuffs. Minimal bus service, so a car is needed. Taxi service from Stansted plus local taxi companies. Guests need to book well in advance if they want a taxi. We can provide a list of taxi services. Easy free parking all around the house Finchingfield is two miles, Stansted Airport 11 miles (20 minutes) Cambridge a 35 minute drive. We take well behaved dogs and make no charge. However they must bring their own beds, feeding bowls etc. and not be allowed on beds, chairs etc. We take one child under 1 or over 10. Please ask about rates for children.
