Peak Edge Terrace (Derbyshire, Peak District)
After the success and popularity of our sister Airbnb, Chatsworth Cottage (read our reviews), we are pleased to launch Peak Edge Terrace, our second family run place. Ideally situated on the Eastern edge of the Peak District making it a great base for adventure and exploration! A more spacious house that can accommodate families and groups of up to six people (using sofa bed). Close to Chatsworth House (15 min drive), Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Hathersage and easy walk into Chesterfield (20 mins) Peak Edge Terrace has a spacious reception/dining room which is great for meal times and also for playing family games around the table (you will find classic board games at the house). In the kitchen you will find a fridge/freezer, electric hob & oven, microwave and all the cooking utensils you will need during your stay. The cosy living room has a comfortable 3 seater black velvet Chesterfield sofa, arm chair and a 32 inch Smart HD TV with Freeview Play, YouTube, Netflix & Amazon (with an account). A selection of books, maps, walking routes, transport guides and information on local attractions can be found on the shelves. Bedrooms - there is a double bed in the attic room (3rd floor) with fitted wardrobes and lovely views of the hills and dales in the distance. On the 2nd floor you have the main bedroom with a king size bed, wardrobe/cupboard space, drawers, dressing table and a full length mirror. There is a third bedroom ( which leads through to the bathroom) which can be used as an additional space and has a fold out sofa bed. The bathroom is located on the 2nd floor which has a luxurious corner bath and separate showering enclosure. The stairs at the house are quite steep so anyone with mobility issues may struggle with them. Super-fast Wi Fi can be picked up throughout the house. You have access to a small private courtyard out at the back of the house. Here you will have use of garden furniture (table and four chairs). Please be respectful and considerate of the neighbours at all times. We generally use a lockbox for a self-check-in system with guests. Your host is local to the area so may be able to meet on arrival and/or call by if requested. Before and during your stay, your host is always available to answer any queries regarding the house or any questions about the local area, places to go and things to do. You will find a Morrisons (supermarket) for all your essentials just 2 minutes walk away. There are fish & chip shops nearby, Chinese, Indian and pizza takeaways and great restaurants nearby too. There are some lovely local walks with parks and open green spaces to explore. Walking East towards Chesterfield town centre you will find Chatsworth Road which is a vibrant place to browse and enjoy. You can visit a variety of traditional (real ale) pubs down the legendary ‘Brampton Mile’. You will also discover fine restaurants, coffee shops, bistros and independent shops/boutiques. Chesterfield town centre offers great shopping, food & drink, market days, multi screen cinema, ten pin bowling, museum, theatres and much more! For breakfast you have lots of choice on your door step with Dollys Deli, Bradbury Bar & Bistro, Nonnas, Koo, Libby’s Café and also Morrison’s Café for convenience and good value. A short drive and you can find some outstanding places for lunch and dinner at places like Stanage (Red Lion), Holymoorside (The Bull), Baslow (Il Lupo - family run Italian), and The Peacock in Barlow is recommended for fantastic food and stunning views from the terrace. Brampton and Chesterfield can easily be explored on foot and there are bus stops all along Old Road & Chatsworth Road when needed. Bus routes heading West will take you into the heart of the Peak District (bus timetables available) and there are regular buses going into Chesterfield town centre, the Derbyshire Dales and Hope Valley areas (Explorer - during the summer). There are several cycle routes in and around Chesterfield for getting around, one leading you into Queens Park and also heading down by Chesterfield Canal towards the Trans Pennine Trail. Other Derbyshire cycle routes include The High Peak, Tissington and Monsal Peak Trails - miles and miles of traffic free exploring for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users . Chesterfield Train Station is only a 5 minute taxi ride or 30 minute walk from Peak Edge Terrace, trains can get you into Sheffield City Centre and Meadowhall in 20 minutes, Derby (25 mins), Leeds (1 hour) or York (1 hr 15 mins). Local taxis are always easily available, affordable and a convenient way to get around town and beyond. When booking, please inform your host if you plan to bring a dog. Although Peak Edge Terrace is dog friendly, we ask guests to try and keep their four legged friends downstairs as much as possible and keep them off the furniture please, especially the beds. It is advised that you bring your own dog bed/crate and blankets. We also ask you to have the utmost consideration for your neighbours especially late at night and early in the morning. If it’s a party weekend you are after then this is not the place for you! Thank you for your understanding.
