Dove Cottage, Sherburn Village, Durham City

Dove Cottage is a detached cottage suitable for 2 people. It is in Sherburn Village, just 3 miles east of Durham City. Originally a stables the cottage has been expertly converted and is situated in a private courtyard at the rear of Weardale House. The cottage has a lounge/dining room, kitchen, one double bedroom with a double bed and a shower room with hand basin and toilet. There is also a large private courtyard and garden with summer house and garden furniture. Dove Cottage has good local amenities within five minutes walk including a Co op supermarket with off license, newsagents, post office, pharmacy, hairdressers and bakers. Also in the centre of the village are two pubs. There is a frequent bus service to Durham City Centre every 20 mins. Dove Cottage is pet friendly and will accept one dog, although we ask that they are not left in the property unattended. The garden, courtyard, summerhouse and garden furniture are all available for guests at all times. the cottage is situated in the middle of the village with easy access to the shops, buses and country walks. Dove Cottage is in a private courtyard behind Weardale House. We meet guest when they arrive and show them into the cottage, after that we are available if need, but leave guest to enjoy the cottage and garden. Sherburn Village has good amenities, a Co-op supermarket open till late, a Post Office, newsagent, pharmacy and a pub all within a few minutes walk of the cottage. There is a regular bus service to and from Durham every 20 mins. There are good country walks from the village so it is easy to enjoy the country side. It is also only 20mins to the coast where you can find some unspoiled beaches and coastal walks. There is a parking spot outside Weardale House that we always leave available for guests, it is part on the road which is a side road round the village green. If arriving by train it is easiest to get a taxi from the station. There are regular buses into Durham City Centre every 20 mins.
