Boutique self contained unit in unique beauty spot
A perfect dog friendly, secluded, rural hideaway with private parking and separate entrance, positioned next to the historic WW2 Metfield Airfields, in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. The accommodation has a double bed, wood burner, seating area, dining table and 2 chairs, kitchen and bathroom. The 4 acre grounds are secure so dogs can roam free. Please note the property is a separate building, adjacent to the main house. Single Malt is a self contained annexe next to Malt Office Farm. There is a double bed, two comfortable chairs with coffee table, a dining table with chairs, wardrobe and small chest of drawers. The kitchen has a 2-ring hob, a small fridge (don’t bring a large shop! But if you do well happily store it for you in our own fridge), Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and toaster. A microwave is available upon request. The bathroom has a bath/shower, basin and lavatory recently installed. The 4 acre gardens are fenced in and secure so dogs can roam free. There are 2 ponds, a paddock, an orchard, a tree house and windmill ruin with dining table set within which guests are welcome to use. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walkers, cyclists, runners and people who enjoy some seclusion. Both Harleston and Halesworth towns are 6 miles away and the coastal hot spot Southwold is 15 miles away. Access to Single Malt is adjacent to the main house with separate access and private parking. We have 2 shared outdoor seating spaces, on the patio or dining table within the windmill ruin. The treehouse can be used with adult supervision. Trains from London Liverpool Street come direct to Diss station, approx 14 miles away. Halesworth station is approx 7 miles away. Whilst the house is on a main road, we are in a remote setting a car is essential! We live in the main house so can be on hand for any queries or problems. If we’re around we’ll say a quick “hello” and leave you to enjoy your break. A charming and peaceful spot set within the Suffolk countryside. A perfect getaway from hectic modern day life! The Village shop is a volunteer-run store only a bicycle ride away (1 mile) which stocks all your basic necessities (booze, fresh local breads, newspapers, wood for your fire and ice for your gin!). Opening hours are normally Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, Sat 9am-2pm and Sun 9am-12pm. The village church is a stunning step back in time. Open daily for visitors. Regular services, concerts and community gatherings all take place there. No pub within Metfield Village, but a great village hall bar open Friday and Saturday evenings (bingo on first Sat night of the month!). Surrounding villages have gastro and traditional eateries such as The Fox And Goose, in Fressingfield; the infamous Low House (our fav!) in Laxfield, The Kings Head pub (superb pizzas), in Brockdish and many more. Just ask us if you have a craving and need a recommendation! Car essential! Our dogs rival Houdini. Please ensure you keep all access gates shut at all times!!
