Otter's Den is a Safari Bungalow set in the peaceful Marloth Park, which borders the world renowned Kruger National Park. The bungalow is set back in the peaceful surrounds of the bushveld where a dedicated watering hole attracts Kudu, Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Warthog, Ostrich and Impla as regular visitors to the property. Experience a peaceful getaway in the heart of the African bushveld. 2 bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms (shower, basin, toilet) look out onto the surrounding bushveld. There is secluded outside shower (with hot water) to enjoy under African skies. The open plan living and kitchen area has all the amenities that you require, including an inside fireplace for rare colder evenings. The long open patio looks out onto the waterhole and the adjacent boma is the perfect place to relax around the fire and share the day's game viewing stories. The bungalow's power is supplied by solar electricity and there is a gas stove and gas water heaters so you will never be without light or hot water. You will have access to the whole house and surrounding property. To allow for the game to move freely in Marloth, there are few fences. You are more than welcome to go for a walk but please do be considerate of our neighbours privacy when crossing their properties. I will be available via phone or AirBnB app for any questions or support you need. Marloth Park is a wildlife sanctuary situated on the southern boundary of the Kruger National Park. Marloth has its own wildlife and boasts four of the big five with the exception of elephant , however as the crocodile river forms the boundary between Marloth Park and the Kruger National Park you are lightly to spot elephants playing in the river. Buffalo , rhino and lion are confined to Marloth's game reserve "Lions Spruit" where as the rest of the game such as Kudu , Zebra , Giraffe , Blue wildebeest , Nyala , Impala , Warthog and plenty more aren't restricted by fences and roam freely between the units that are built on 1500 hectares. With the dangerous game restricted you can take a walk along the river or a mountain bike ride on many a dirt roads and is a birder's paradise. The best way around is in your own vehicle, which will allow you to meander through the bushveld at your leisure. Should you wish to go on a guided excursion there are a number of tour operators that can be found in the area. Night Drives, Walks and even Bush BBQ's can be booked at the nearby Crocodile Bridge Campsite in the Kruger Park. Marloth Park is in a Malaria Area. Please contact your local physician or travel clinic for advice before travelling to the area. We do provide mosquito nets, but guest should bring their own insect repellents and any prescribed medication. It is illegal to collect firewood (from the ground or trees) in Marloth. Please ensure you buy plenty of wood at the gate or shops.
