Maison de Vencimont

Old farm renovated in 2013, located in Ardennes (South of Belgium) in the heart of the picturesque village of Vencimont and surrounded by woods with signposted pedestrian and bike paths. The house is perfect for couples and families (with children). Fully equipped kitchen, board games, bikes, babyfoot, badminton, comics, pétanque, maps to go for walks in the region etc. Enjoy! In spring/summer, enjoy the pretty garden with a nice view on the village and woods. In fall/winter, heat-burners will heat the house and will give it this cozy countryhouse feeling. All year long, enjoy the beautiful nature around the village. The house is equipped with a small baby bed as well as two double beds and four single beds, which means the house can receive up to 8 people with a baby. You have access to the entire house with garden. We are available at any time by text or by phone. - Where to go for groceries and shopping? In Vencimont: A good butcher called “Aux Délices de la Houille”, with some other products like eggs, pasta, milk, rice etc…( closed Monday and Tuesday) Two bakeries, one next to the Church, (closed Monday) and one at the watermill, next to the river. (Please note that the mill bakery is only open on weekends and is closed on Sundays). Organic vegetables (called Terracines, at the intrance of the village coming from Beauraing) Watch out, small shops usually close around noon. - Which activities around the house? You will find maps of the region in the kitchen (on the piece of furniture behind the table) for nice walks in the region and around the village. You can also go kayaking on the Semois or on the Houille which are nearby. We have four bikes that you can enjoy during your stay as well. To visit the region, we would recommend to visit the city of Bouillon which is a must-seen. The “Maison du Tourisme” (in Gedinne, open on Sunday): advices on nice walks by foot or with bikes, the agenda for the hunts when it is the season (forbidding the access to certain zones in the woods), things to see in the region, expositions, flea markets, etc. Please see the little booklet we made for you in the house. You will have there all the details on other activities. You will need a car to arrive to Vencimont and get around the villages nearby. During the summer (July and August), all bookings will need to be made for at least a week.
