The market town of Saint Omer, famous for its waterways and unique way of farming vegetables in the marshes, is just 8km away. Take a traditional barge ride around the canals, or stroll through the public gardens, cobbles squares. Nearby is Arques, famous worldwide for its glassmaking, take a tour around the factory and shop for souvenirs in the factory shop. The sandy beaches of Malo les Bains is a short drive away where you can enjoy miles and miles of unspoilt sand and with a great selection of bars and restaurants to enjoy. Further afield, the Belgian city of Bruges makes an interesting day out or visit Lille. Historians can enjoy Ypres, Dunkirk, the Battlefields of the Somme and Agincourt.
