Bridge Cottage, Castleton in the Peak District
Bridge Cottage is a stone built cottage situated a few metres from the Peakshole Water in the delightful village of Castleton, and is just a short walk to the centre of the village with many local pubs and shops. Centrally located in a beautiful part of the Peak District National Park, this is an ideal location for exploring on foot with lovely walks from the doorstep, riding a bike through the many quiet lanes and footpaths of the area, or visiting the show caves situated near the cottage. The cottage is full of character with exposed stone walls, an open fire and a some low ceilings (be prepared to duck every now and again). The 2 bedrooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements with a twin bedroom and a super king sized bed The cottage also has a fully equipped kitchen/diner and cosy living space. Outdoor patio space is available at the rear of the property. Dogs are welcome in the cottage, but should not be left unsupervised in the cottage at any time during your stay. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Bed linen & towels are provided. Perfect for both summer and winter breaks. The village is popular for its show caves, history, shops, Christmas lights, garland ceremony, Winnats Pass, Cave Dale and for those wishing to walk on the numerous footpaths in the area . Surrounded by hillsides and overlooked by Mam Tor (the shivering mountain) and the ancient Peveril Castle. A holiday or short break will allow you to explore some of England’s most spectacular scenery; fascinating historical and cultural heritage; and in the towns, villages and hamlets – amongst the prettiest in the country – you will find a warm and genuine welcome wherever you go. The rolling hills, vast moorland and gritstone crags of the Peak District make for a dramatic and varied landscape. Not surprisingly it is a Mecca for walkers, climbers and cyclists looking for peace, tranquillity and adventure. The diverse and engaging region of the Peak District and Derbyshire has benefited from years of careful conservation and management, and is packed with things to see and places to visit. Castleton is served by busses through the Hope Valley, with a train station in nearby villages, on the line to Sheffield Residents car parking pass available to use the car park 100m from the cottage. There is also some on-street parking available next to the cottage, on a first come, first served basis.
