Cosy Cottage in the Heart of St Just
This cosy retreat in the depths of Cornwall is a beautiful granite miners cottage built in the 1800's which has recently been fully renovated. With easy access to the coastal path from the cottage you can easily enjoy exploring the historic landscape and beautiful beaches that surround the most south westerly peninsular of the country. This traditional miners cottage is yours to enjoy exclusively during your stay. Upstairs- There is a 1 double bedroom and a large bathroom. Ground floor- The kitchen, lounge/diner and pretty garden. The garden is still in progress as it has recently had a lot of work done to it however you are more than welcome to use it. The entrance/exit is the front door where you will find a key safe to the right hand side. Unfortunately the cottage is a no smoking property but it is dog friendly. You are able to access the property from the rear entrance through a gate at the back or through the front door. The gate at the back is accessed by both neighbours either side of the house so I would recommend using the front door by the road. You are able to use the entire house during your stay. I will be available, mostly via email and text. However, in case of any emergencies, please do feel free to call me directly. I work full time so don't have much access to my phone to answer calls. Despite this, I will do my best to answer your phone calls. The St Just area has a rich mining history and has been designated a World Heritage Site, and is also in one of the twelve Cornish Areas of Outstanding natural Beauty. During the summer months the town is ablaze with extraordinary floral displays and has won awards for Britain in Bloom. There is much to enjoy here including traditional pubs, stunning walks, small supermarkets and galleries including Kirk Jackson foundation. The coastline in this part of Cornwall is simply outstanding and the road from St Ives to St Just is possibly the most scenic drive in the county. There is a local Co-Op supermarket is walking distance from the cottage which is open until 10pm where you will find basics and plenty more. There is also a Premier store, also open until late. There are also four pubs within comfortable walking distance, some serve food, a number of cafes, a Chinese takeaway, Bakery and other shops and Art galleries. We are approximately 10 minutes drive from Sennen beach and Porthcurno which are both very popular beaches in the Summer. The bus stop in the village can take you up to St Ives or into Penzance and there are occassional routes to Sennen Cove & Lands End. The nearest train station is 6 miles away in Penzance which is also the nearest town for bigger supermarkets and shopping facilities so travelling by car would be ideal however there are many taxi services in the area which offer transport if the bus doesn't work out for you during your stay.
