This is a beautiful spacious apartment with with 270 degree views up and down the coast. Very private as it is up high but yet only only 300 meters from the beautiful clean beach with crystal clear water. One of a handfull of certified clean beaches in Calabria. Baker is 100m, shops, bars and restaurants 200m. Although the appartment does not have any airconditioning it is situated on a hill and always has a light breeze. Enjoy your stay. The appartment is located in Santa Caterina Marina, however a visit to the historic Santa Caterina Magiore is only 8km up the hill. This medieval village dating back to the year 1000 AD has officially the smallest lane in Italy. Perched on the edge of cliffs the views are spectacular. See the Chiesa Matrice, the Palazo Marchese and experience the warm hospitality of the locals. The locality of Santa Caterina is also noted for the 19 Wine Palmenti, boulders which were carved into tubs to be used to manufacture wine. Many date back to the year 400AD and are unique as they are the bigest in Italy. The popular tourist town of Soverato is only 15 minutes away, The historic Badolato is the next village only 10 minutes, Roceletta 25min, the mountains 15 minutes. Historic greek ruins of Monestarace is 10 minutes, Locri is 1hr. Serra San Bruno 45 minutes. Santa Caterina also has 2 shipwrecks that can be explored by scuba. The historic torre Santa Antonio is on the beach. You can experience the exceptional Calabrese friuts, vegitables and general food all around this area. The nearest airport is Lamezia Terme 1 hour away. The trains at Santa Caterina only stop twice a day but you have regular stops at Soverato (15min away). Regional bus from Milan, Rome, Naples stops at Santa Caterina twice a day.
