The Barn at Mount Skippett - safe cosy rural haven

A Cotswolds rural retreat (open-plan style), suitable for couple, good friends or family with teenage children. Easy access to London (Charlbury Station 2 miles away). Local taxis available. Two wonderful pubs (Royal Oak, Ramsden & The Plough, Finstock) within easy walking distance. Other attractions nearby include Blenheim Palace, Daylesford Farm, Burford, Bicester Village ... and so much more. Having lived here for 27 years, we would be pleased to discuss 'things to do and places to see'. Originally a 17th Century stone building, The Barn is a private, snug retreat with an interesting history! It is an ideal spot for four people wanting to explore the Cotswolds, or an artist, poet or academic in need of solitude. The Barn has been frequently-used by friends and family, so is fully-equipped for visitors, who have been delighted with its unique ambience! The Barn is a detached building, entered from the RHS of the driveway. In the context of Covid-19, we adhere strictly to the "Airbnb Cleaning Protocol" and there is no contact between our Guests and ourselves. We have provided a free phone for Guests to use and they can call us, without coming to our door. In these times these are regrettable, but necessary precautions, but everyone is entitled to feel 'safe'. This is a separate self-contained barn conversion, 20m away from the main house. Our big garden is accessible by arrangement. The Barn has its own private patio with table, chairs and BBQ. The easy car-parking arrangements, mean that you can come and go as you please at any time. We live next door and are generally available to help throughout your stay. However guests are in a 'separate bubble' and there can be no direct contact between us, whilst Covid-19 is a threat. Sadly, our conversations must be held at a safe Social Distance (2m). We have a lovely cat (Betty) who may visit you, but only if invited! We live on the edge of Ramsden village, a particularly pretty Cotswold village, in a Conservation Area. Take a look at Ramsden Village's website. Walking and biking (for all levels) are right on the doorstep, with shopping, dining, numerous local attractions and events within easy reach. We are only 10 minutes drive from Charlbury Station and there is a limited bus service to surrounding towns and villages. A good taxi service is available. The village shop (in Finstock) and two local pubs are within walking distance (less than one mile away). Please keep the 5-bar entrance gate closed, to keep the ducks safe.
