Stay in the Castle

Basic but nice and individually styled apartment with 3 separate rooms. Space for 6-8 people on 110 sqm inside the small romantic Castle. The castle is situated in the middle of the village Mansbach and the low mountain range Rhön. The apartment is equipped with a full usable kitchen, central heating and a wood stove for the colder days. We are a small group of idealists who acquired the listed building, built in the 16th century, at the end of 2014. We plan to establish a cultural project and seminar house there and thus strengthen the structurally weak region. In summer we organize a recurring event: kling, music and arts festival. We have already been able to renovate part of the castle with ecological materials, but are still at the beginning of a long "journey". Every guest contributes with his overnight stay to keep this project alive and to support it. The apartments are simple and have charm. Our furniture is individual, second hand and put together with love. We offer accommodation with lots of peace and quiet and various possibilities to relax. Be it by simply relaxing in our garden, walking in the surrounding area, swimming in the surrounding lakes and much more. There are no limits to your imagination. In addition to the apartments, we also rent out the outside area and the foyer for family celebrations. You can use the garden area around the castle for relaxing and barbecue. The apartment is on the first upper floor. The village has a bakery, a gas station where you can buy beverages too and the pizzeria. A small lake is 2km far and the hill side is perfekt for hiking. We try to spend as much time as possible there, but unfortunately we are not always available. By mail and phone we are always available. We wish you a nice and inspiring time in our old castle! There are two permanently rented units in the castle, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor in the right wing. Guests can park directly at the castle. The nearest train station is in Hünfeld and further away in Fulda and Bad Hersfeld. Clean sheets and small towels are provided. Please bring your own large bath towels. In order to cover the accessory costs as heating and electricity we ask for a donation. It can be placed in the small box on the cupboard. During the cold season we provide wood for the fireplace and stove.
